"This," Maze tells me, putting a dress in my arms.
"Why do you want to shop with me so much?" I question.
"Isn't that what girl friends do?" she asks, and I raise an eyebrow.
"Wait, have we been shopping because you think that's what we're supposed to do?"
"...No."
"Alright, I'm taking you out on a real girl day. Come on."
She insists on buying the clothes, but once we leave the store, I grab her hand.
"Okay, so we're going to the spa," I tell her.
"The spa," she repeats, raising an eyebrow at me.
"Don't you want to look...well, you're already pretty, so let's say even prettier," I say, and she rolls her eyes.
"Demons aren't pretty," she replies, and I purse my lips.
"You are."
"Want to see my face?"
"Am I not looking at it?"
"I can show you," she says, smirking slightly.
"Why does it sound like you're going to flash me?" I ask, and she bursts into laughter.
"Because that's basically what it is," she responds after a moment.
"Maybe some other time," I tell her, and she shrugs. "Suit yourself."
———
"How am I supposed to claw out people's eyes with these?" Maze questions as the lady files her nails.
"She's just shaping them. You can claw as much as you want to," I reply. It's been so long since I've been in a spa. And Maze, although a bit odd, is great company.
"I need a drink," she comments.
"What would you like?" one of the staff asks, giving her a smile.
"Whiskey," Maze replies.
"Are you sure we can't interest you in some champagne?"
"Whiskey," she repeats flatly, and the lady nods before leaving. "So, tell me about Lucifer," she says, looking to me.
"What about him?"
"How are you enjoying his...assets?" she asks, raising her eyebrow suggestively.
"His assets," I repeat, trying not to laugh.
"Mhmm. You know, like," she says before bringing her free hand to her mouth and mimicking a blow job.
"Maze!" I hiss, but she just laughs. I let out a breath, my cheeks flushing.
"So?" she questions, her eyes sparkling mischievously.
"It's great. He's great. End of discussion," I tell her.
"It meaning his dick?"
"Maze!"
The ladies filing our nails seem to be amused by our discussion, and the lady beside me, Cindy, stifles a laugh.
"Pardon my asking, but Lucifer as in Lucifer Morningstar?" the lady beside Maze asks me. I think her name was Valorie.
"Yeah, that's him," Maze says, looking to her.
"He never called me back," she comments.
"Wait..." It takes me a moment to understand what she's saying.
"You dating him?" she asks, and I open my mouth to reply, but the door opens. The lady comes in with Maze's whiskey.
I clear my throat. "You could say that."
"Sorry for asking. I'm just surprised he'd settle," she explains, and I furrow my brow.
"Is it that hard to believe?" I ask, and her cheeks flush.
"This is inappropriate. I'm sorry," she says, laughing awkwardly.
But now, I'm intrigued. I want to know more.
As the lady who brought Maze's whiskey leaves, I hear her exclaim, "Oh! Hello there."
And then a familiar British accent: "Is Lily in there?"
"Lucifer?" I call.
"Oh, there she is," he says before coming into the room.
"What are you doing here?" I ask as he comes over. He leans down, kissing me lightly. I smile as he pulls away.
"I missed you," he says simply, and I raise an eyebrow.
"Is that the only reason you came?"
"I was bored," he replies.
"Hello, appreciate me," Maze says, raising her free hand and waving it slightly.
"I do appreciate you," he says before noticing Valorie. "Oh, hello there."
"Hey Lucifer," she replies, continuing to work on Maze's nails.
"Can I crash your girl day?" Lucifer asks me, and I shrug.
"It won't be a girl day anymore," Maze comments.
"Two girls one devil. How about that?"
"You mean one girl, a demon, and the devil?" Maze retorts.
"This is getting too complicated," I comment.
"Then it's settled, I'm staying."
"Nobody agreed to that. We don't want you here," Maze tells him, but it's too late. He's already taken a seat, ready to become a pretty Devil.
