A rollercoaster of emotions. I don't know what the fuck I'm doing. I can't just forgive him for what he did—the pain made me leave Hell. But at the same time, I know it's not his fault. And then there's the whole Isaac situation.
I don't understand what the fuck is happening, and I'm so confused. But as I lie here, Lucifer's arms wrapped around me from behind, I find solace.
I have him. And I'm not about to let him go.
"You awake, love?" he mumbles, his voice laced with sleep.
"Mmm," I respond, putting my hand over his. With everything that happened yesterday, we hadn't talked about Isaac and what happened.
"Can I tell you about yesterday?" he asks, as if he read my mind.
"Yeah."
"I think Isaac was sent here by my father," he says, and I stiffen. This changes everything. God is still trying to tear us apart.
"Did...does he have something to do with my mother?" I question, and he lets out a breath.
"I think he does."
"Does that mean he's the source of all this?"
"He might be."
"What does he want? I don't understand."
"Don't worry. I'll deal with it. I'm not letting anything take you away from me. Even dear old dad can't keep us apart."
I smile slightly. The sentiment is sweet, but I don't know if that's truly possible.
"Why is he doing this still? We're not hurting anyone by being together," I say softly, squeezing his hand.
"He's just a dick," he responds, making me laugh slightly despite everything. It's like we have to constantly fight to be together. Nothing comes easily.
And then suddenly, I hear the door open. Lucifer stiffens behind me, and then I hear him say something I never thought I'd hear him say.
"Sister?"
I sit up and look toward the door. A woman dressed in all black with jet black hair is standing there, a perfect eyebrow raised. She's gorgeous, to say the least.
"Brother," she comments, eyeing me judgmentally. "Your pet is back, I see," she comments. A flash. I'm thrown into another memory.
"Don't call her that," Lucifer snarls. The red room again.
"I'll call her whatever I please," the woman responds, rolling her dark eyes.
"Get out of here," Lucifer snaps, putting an arm around me protectively.
"I'm not trying to break you apart. I don't care who you stick your dick in. I just—"
"Sister!" Lucifer roars.
I'm snapped back to the present. Lucifer is looking at me, and so is his sister.
"She do that a lot?" she asks, pursing her red lips.
"She just remembered something," Lucifer replies.
"She told you she didn't care who you stuck your dick in," I inform him with a straight face, making his sister burst into laughter.
"I still don't care," she adds. She comes closer, to my side of the bed. She sticks out her hand. "Since we've probably only met a few times anyway, I'm Demetria," she tells me, and I shake her hand.
"Sister, you'd better have a good reason for being here," Lucifer says, sounding annoyed.
"I just came because I wanted liquor for free."
"Oh of course you did."
"Hey. It's not easy to get," she replies. "Although, I'm trying to get myself a pet like yours—"
"Watch yourself, sister. You know I'm stronger than you," Lucifer growls, although it's a little hard to appear threatening when you're literally sitting in bed in a shirt and your boxer briefs.
"Mmm. Whatever. She's great. She's got this hot body—"
"She's much more attractive," Lucifer cuts in, putting a hand on my shoulder as if to emphasize the point.
"It's not a competition. Although mine is better."
"Yours isn't an angel," Lucifer retorts, and she huffs.
"She's a succubus like me, bitch."
"Sister, that's dangerous," Lucifer says, his tone changing. This is too confusing for me. I don't understand how Lucifer is a succubus' brother. How does that even work?
"She's weak. She doesn't even know that she's a succubus. I've got it under control," she huffs. "Just give me some fucking booze."
"Talk to Maze," he responds, seeming to drop the whole "dangerous" subject.
"She doesn't like me."
"For good reason."
"Oh come now, brother," she says, grinning. There's something about her. She's magnetic, just like Lucifer. "See, even your pet likes me," she points out, and I realize I'd been leaning forward in her direction.
"That's just the angel blood in you. If there's still any left," Lucifer responds, putting an arm around me to pull me back toward him.
"Mmm, don't worry your little head about me, brother. I just need the goods."
"Fine. Go over and Maze will give you all the liquor you desire," he tells her, trying to dismiss her.
"Oh without catching up a bit?" she asks sweetly.
"I thought you didn't want to?"
"I'm just fucking with you. Why would I want to know about your life?"
"Oh bloody hell," Lucifer mutters, and she laughs.
"Bye bitches," she says, turning around and heading out the door.
"She just comes to mess with me," Lucifer tells me, letting out a breath.
"Do you think...maybe she could help us?"
"What?"
"You heard me. Do you think she could help us?"
"How?" he asks, and I let out a breath.
"She can manipulate people, it seems, and you're good with desires. Maybe the two of you together could do something about the whole Isaac thing," I reply.
"Well...that's actually not a bad idea. And she hates Dad."
"Then she'd help, wouldn't she?"
He smiles slightly. "I think so."
