'Oh my god, Greyson! No!' I protested.
'Oh come on Eve, it's gonna be fun!' Greyson said while dragging my hand along. We were at Universal Studios and it was 9:00am.
In the last one hour in the car, Greyson had developed this habit of calling me 'Eve', like I was his best friend or something. But hey, it's Greyson Chance, so of course I'd let him.
Lost deep in my thoughts, I suddenly opened my eyes wide. We were in the queue for 'the scariest roller coaster known to man' according to StarNews.
'Oh my gosh, I'm getting out of here! Enjoy your ride Greyson!' I hurriedly shouted before turning away. Before I could even take one step, he yanked on my arm and pulled me close to him. We were so close, we were almost kissing. My heart was racing.
I AM NOT SINGLE. YOU ARE NOT SINGLE, EVEYN. I stepped back one step.
'It'll be fun!'
'But I'm scared! I hate roller coasters!'
'It's gonna be fine, don't worry, I'll be here the whole way!'
Greyson stared at me with big brown puppy eyes. Sparkling ones. Who could refuse?
'Fine. But I'm only going on that thing ONCE!' I sighed. I just couldn't say no.
'Yay!' he started clapping.
I smiled. 'Pshh.'
Facing the front again, my eyes widened. We were nearing the front of the line. It was even scarier. Before I could even exit the line, I was dragged into the roller coaster by Greyson. Oh my god. FIRST ROW?! Greyson was practically BEAMING. I slapped him on the arm playfully. 'Greyson Michael Chance, when I said I would go on this ride, I didn't mean first row seats! You-' I was cut off before I could finish, because we were suddenly zoomed into the air. I screamed. 'SORRY!' Greyson shouted.
We were about to plunge down. I closed my eyes, and felt an arm around me. It felt warm, it felt so right. YOU ARE NOT SINGLE. Okay.
'That. Was. AWESOME!'
You would've thought it was Greyson who would most likely be screaming that, but lo and behold, it was actually me.
'I told you you'd love it! But I don't feel so good. Urgh.' Greyson said, making fake puke noises. I laughed.
'Let's go on another ride!' he screamed, before dragging me off again.
'So, did you... Um... See what was on the paper I gave you yesterday?' Greyson asked, his mouth full of cheese and fries. I laughed at the sight.
'Yup, I did,' I said, in between laughter and my double cheeseburger.
'Oh.. Okay..' Greyson blushed. He looked down at his food and started picking at it.
'I will call you, definitely!' I whispered.
His face lit up. 'Really?' came his reply. I couldn't help but laugh again.
'What doesn't kill you makes you-' my phone rang. Chris.
'Hello?'
'Hey babe! Woah.. It's noisy in the background, where are you?'
'Oh, I'm just at Universal Studios..'
'Without me? I'm sad!'
'Hahaha very funny.'
'Dinner tonight at 7?'
'Can't, I'll still be here.'
'Oh.. Well.. Okay then. I love you beautiful.'
'I love you too.'
After I hung up, Greyson was staring at me with dejectedness in his eyes.
'Was.. Was that.. Your.. Boyfriend?' he asked, voice slightly trembling. I nodded slowly. 'Oh,' he said in a quiet voice. 'I'm sorry, I thought..' he continued.
'No it's okay,' I said. 'We can still be friends right? I'll never unfriend you!'
He laughed upon hearing that. I smiled, although aware of the huge hole in my heart.
