This is the first chapter I've properly edited/re-written out of these beginning awkward 6 chapters. I started with re-writing the fifth chapter first, instead of the first, or even the sixth, because it was my least favorite chapter ever and just thinking about re-writing it would stress me out because I had no idea where to begin with it. So, I decided to simply get the worst out of the way! Because of this, the sixth chapter is NOT edited, and while there shouldn't be any continuity issues, the writing style will be more similar to the first four chapters before going back to the consistent writing style that is present form the seventh chapter onwards. Hope it doesn't turn you off! I will get the sixth chapter edited eventually. :)

For the first time in years, Alice was truly happy. Finally, her life held a purpose. No longer was she stuck in a monotonous routine of serving spaghetti, cleaning up after her brother, drinking bottles after bottles of wine with Emily, only to repeat it all the next day. Instead, she was pursuing her passion alongside Blaise, creating the best damn mental health app in existence. So many late nights were spent coding on her fancy new computer while Blaise sat beside her, frantically researching new psychological components to incorporate into the design.
It was truly remarkable, the ways their dynamics were quickly changing. Two long-term enemies spending nearly every night together... and enjoying it. That's how life had become with Alice and Isaac.
Over the month of October, the three of them had become inseparable. Initially, this irritated Alice to no end. Especially when she was enjoying a relaxing bubble bath on a peaceful Sunday evening, only to be rudely interrupted by the sound of her front door slamming open and the loud chatter of Blaise and Isaac's voices echoing through the house.
"Oh my god, you have got to be kidding me," Alice hissed under her breath as she leaped out of the comforting warm water, wrapping a large towel around her naked body as she stormed out of the bathroom.
When she turned the corner into her kitchen, uncaring that she was dripping water all over her peeling linoleum floor or that black mascara was smudged all over her cheeks, she sent the two men the most menacing glare she could muster.
"What is your problem?" She shouted at Isaac, who was reaching into her refrigerator to pass Blaise a bottle of beer. "Have you ever heard of knocking?"
"I'm Isaac Hanes," he said, shrugging his shoulders and making himself comfortable on one of Alice's kitchen chairs. He popped the bottle cap off and sent her a cheeky grin. "I don't have to knock."
"Oh, alright," she said with a clenched jaw, wrapping the towel tighter around her chest. "I suppose Isaac Hanes is also immune to laws of breaking and entering, huh?"
"Well, most rich people could figure out a way to be immune to most laws, so ..."
"You're such a prat, you know that, right?" Blaise said to Isaac, who promptly raised his middle finger, before turning to Alice. "I'm so sorry, Alice. I swear I tried to convince him to knock. If my phone wasn't dead I would have called to warn you we were heading over, and Isaac insisted you wouldn't be busy..."
"What if I was having crazy, wild sex in the middle of my living room?" She yelled, nearly throwing her arms in the air in exasperation, but quickly lowering them as soon as her towel began to slip.
"Well, then I would say you should lock your front door..." Isaac said, and Alice groaned, massing her forehead with her fingers.
"You're so ridiculous," she said. "Whatever. I'm over it. Why the hell are you two even here?"
"Umm... we were bored," Blaise said, rubbing the back of his neck. "We wanted to see if you were up for a couple drinks."
Alice's eyes widened as they shifted between Blaise and Isaac, whose faces had transformed into an angelic innocence. The anger running through her body began to disperse as Isaac's pearly white teeth shined as his lips curved upwards, his neck motioning to the refrigerator.
