iv. Too Late to Change

'Change your mind, you can change your life,
But what if I'm standing on the tip of the knife?
What if it's too late to change?
I swear I tried to rearrange
The pieces of my heart; But it was too late,
Too broken to try and mend.

But just when I was about to let go, you showed up,
And helped fill my empty cup.
You brought happiness back to my soul
And also took out all that was foul.

But then, just when I thought you'd stay,
You said you had to go away
You tried to fix me,
But failed miserably
And ended up shattering my broken heart
And tearing all my worlds apart.

Hello again!!! So I've updated and this poem right here was written by me when I was bored. This basically just deals with how you find friends or people when you really are lonely or broken and you really begin to trust them. And then, you find them mending you. But then, all of sudden they have to go and you find yourself broken in more ways than before you met them. It's just like how people try to catch hold of you when you're falling; but their grip slips and you just end up falling deeper... And for having encouraged me to try out writing poetry, I dedicate this poem to my best friend- taniatariq !
Thanks for reading 😊
