To my Green

When I thought of you,
Poetry flowed out of me;
The world became a much better place-
The grass a little greener,
Everything a little sweeter.

But now I think of you,
And there's a void I can't quite fill.
The world becomes a darker place;
The stars a little duller,
The flowers a little sadder.

The words no longer string themselves into poems,
The wound just deepens itself.

I still miss you.
