"Good afternoon, everyone. As the President of the Flower Appreciation Club, I'm proud to announce our very first club meeting and project."

There was a brief moment of applause from Hinata, Ren, and Sumire.

It was our first meeting -- the moment I'd been waiting for for so long. It may have only been the four of us (thanks to Ren scaring off any other applicants), but I was so excited and confident that we'd all work out as club members and friends. I had been grinning from ear to ear the moment I got out of bed today!

"What's our first project? I'm kind of excited..."

"Whatever it is that Ayame arranged, I'm sure it will be very interesting."

I pointed at Hinata, suddenly overwhelmed with excitement, "Yes! In fact, this project does have something to do with flower arrangement!" I set down some documents and pictures I'd worked on and printed out last night and spread them out all over the table. Everyone leaned forward to look at the papers. I pointed to the first paper, a picture of an old folks home in the town.

"Our principal has asked us to arrange a bouquet of flowers for her mother and deliver it to the home this Sunday. In return, she'll help to financially support the club. She's also asked for us to arrange flowers to decorate the rest of the home. Tasks like this are how we'll raise money for it."

"What...that's all? An old folks home? That's boring..." Ren rest his chin in his hand and his elbow on the table, closing his eyes. Hinata and Sumire glanced at me quietly, waiting for my reaction. I smiled sweetly back at them, but on the inside, my blood was boiling.

I quickly reach over and shove Ren's arm out from supporting his head, causing his face to swing down and smack into the table. He makes a small groan in response and remains still in that hilarious position while I continue on.

"Hinata, Sumire. I've decided to leave the bouquet delivery to you. Ren and I will--"

"Go on a date?!"

I roll my eyes when my annoying boyfriend lifts his head, a red mark on his forehead.

"No, you fool! You and I will be visiting the greenhouse together this weekend to get the flowers we need."

"Ayame! When am I going to get my alone time with you?!" Ren stands up from his seat, reaching for me and practically snatching me across the table toward him in a hug. The papers fly off the table and slide all along the floor, creating a mess that only fuels my rage.

"You're ruining this meeting! I'll send you out, I swear!"

"You're so cruel..." Ren releases me and sits back down in defeat. Hinata and Sumire are laughing together like we were a riot at a comedy theater. I lift my papers up and try to rearrange them, but I've already lost my train of thought, and all because of that damned Ren!

The meeting still went very smoothly. I showed everyone the calendar of events I had planned out for the week. We'd mostly be doing flower arrangements, going out to spend time together, delivering flowers for romantic requests, and helping out in the greenhouse to grow our own flowers. It didn't sound all that eventful, but it would still be a blast because my friends would be joining me.

The bouquet delivery would happen this Sunday.

When the boys left, Sumire and I hung behind to talk, and I was so excited to tell her I had actually planned and arranged partners for the event for a specific reason.

"What do you mean, exactly?" she says, eyeing me suspiciously. The sunset glow of the oncoming evening was illuminating our skin. It colored the room all sorts of warm hues, dimming the atmosphere to something comfortable and relaxing.

"I mean...I arranged for you and Hinata to do the event together...it'll be like a date!"

At the mention of the word, Sumire turned red and her eyes went wide, "You don't mean...but it won't! That'll never happen!"

"It's not exactly a FORMAL date, but the two of you will be alone for the first time ever! Tell me you're excited."

"I guess I am! I thought you made the arrangement so you could get Ren to stop crying."

"Oh, please!" the two of us begin to laugh about what happened in the meeting today, "Heading to a greenhouse couldn't possibly be romantic in the slightest. Especially not with Ren!"

"You never know! All you have to do is stop being shy with him all the time and let him lead the romance on."

"What do you mean shy, romance expert.."

"You are totally being shy every time he shows you any sort of affection! That's why you hit him!"

"Is not!" I laughed it off, but I couldn't help but wonder if it were true...
