3 months later...

High school graduation and summer seemed to be a complete blur. 3 months passed like the blink of an eye, and fall approached us like a creeping wake up call.

Most of us would be parting ways to continue our education. I had no idea what I was going to do until I opened my flower shop, but I knew I'd have to start saving. My family didn't exactly have a lot of money to help with my dream. But oh well, it was mine, anyway, I should be the one to get a job and fund it.

Needless to say, I graduated high school with no regrets. I walked out of the building with more friends than I could have imagined, and a love greater than I could have imagined, too.

I grew closer to Ren every single day. We spent every moment we could with each other. It would make any eventual parting all the more painful, but being with him helped me forget most of those worries.

One stormy summer night, Ren and I finally consummated our love for each other while his parents were out of town. We had merely been taking shelter in his house after the rain started...

I remember how time seemed to stop when we realized how very much alone we were. Ren mentioned getting out of our clothes before we could catch a cold, and, somehow, our lips found the each other and never seemed to part from there. My first time lying bare in his arms as we explored our love for each other was a warm memory I'd treasure in my heart forever.

As we lay that night, watching the shadows of the rain hitting the window in his bedroom, we talked about everything, from our fears to the things we would look forward to in the future

As we lay that night, watching the shadows of the rain hitting the window in his bedroom, we talked about everything, from our fears to the things we would look forward to in the future. I lay across Ren's warm, smooth bare chest, smiling as I listened to his soothing heart beat. I couldn't stop caressing his skin, admiring his muscles and appreciating his beauty. I must have become the clingy one at some point. Not that either of us cared.

"Ayame?" He whispers my name, kissing the top of my head. My fingers run along his rib cage and he chuckled in response to the ticklish sensation.

"Yes, Ren?" I sigh back.

"Nevermind....I'm just so happy, I don't even know what to say."

"Silly, you just said it, didn't you?"

"I guess I did, huh.."

We fell asleep that night, purely content. The world could have fallen apart around us and we wouldn't have even stirred.

One special day in fall, a day I'd never forget...

I was forced awake by the sound of a screeching girl in my ear.

"Ayame! Get up!"

"Mnn...Sumire, it's early, what is it...."

My silly blue eyed friend shakes me and rocks me awake, disturbing all of the peaceful dreams I'd just had. So much for a gentle alarm clock. At some point amidst the rough way she was handling me, she knocked me over and I fell out of bed with a THUD. The cold wooden floor had never been so cruel.
