Until then, the two had been best friends. From exchanging glances in class to smiling cheekily whenever their eyes met. They always passed signs and gestures secretly in class if it was possible. Before then, Jisoo had found out that Yoongi's grades were constantly going down, even if he was a genius in non- school subjects. She hadn't known the reason but they began helping each other, staying back in school to study together. Since Jisoo finally had a friend, Yoongi was invited to sit with her during recess, this made Jisoo really happy to have someone she could 'talk' to. Surely, girls would end up gossiping about her, but they wouldn't dare go near her, because Yoongi was always there, to protect her. He had much more experience in this horrible school than anyone else.
Whenever Yoongi leaned against the lockers while waiting for his best friend to be done stuffing things, the same incident would always appear in the back of his mind. How they met for the first time, was special to him.
The moment Jisoo closed her lockers, Yoongi's smiley face would stare back at her, and she would always smile sweetly back at him.Yoongi wrapped his arm around Jisoo's shoulder as they walked casually towards the school gates.
"Jisoo-ah, do you have time to play basketball with me?" Yoongi asked excitedly, he was really hoping for a 'yes'. He had been waiting for this day, the day before the weekends when Jisoo didn't have work. Yes, she told him about it, and he follows her to the café once in a week to get a cup of coffee. He learned not to stick around too long because of her strict manager. Jisoo thought for a while to tease him, but he knew that she was absolutely free.
Yoongi watched as she nodded and clapped her hands in excitement. That was how the two began skipping to the school's basketball court at noon, when the sun was shining so brightly, like how they were giving each other bright smiles while playing. Yoongi wad quite impressed when Jisoo had managed to shoot in most of the hoops he challenged her. He had always seen her as someone gentle and not so much into sports. He, too was happy that he finally found a buddy that enjoys his hobbies. After a few hours of playing in the sun, Jisoo felt that they should head home, she was worried about Yoongi who had sweat already glistening under the sunlight. She didn't want his milky skin to get tanned too.
"Alright Jisoo, you can shoot some hoops first, I need to get something." Yoongi should have known what was going to happen if he had left her alone. If he left Jisoo alone.
----------------------*-----------------------*------Yoongi slammed his locker doors, and was ready to get home into a comfortable sleep after a long playtime with Jisoo. Suddenly, he heard loud groans from what seemed like someone getting beatened up. It then hit his head like a thousand bricks. He muttered an "Oh no" under his breath. Was Jisoo okay? The only person he could think of was Jisoo at that moment. What if she was in danger? He wasted no time and sped right towards the basketball court, only to see a male student on the floor, flinching as he clung onto his stomach. And Jisoo standing over him, a sly smile plastered on her face. Yoongi knew Jisoo wouldn't have beaten a student for no damn reason. The student must have done something to her while Yoongi was away.
"That's my baby girl!!" Jisoo immediately turned to where the deep voice came from, and she knew it was Yoongi's. She raised an eyebrow and was going to burst into laughter. Yoongi, who then realised what he had just shouted out, quickly covered his mouth in embarrassment. Jisoo took out her notebook and scribbled something, then popped it infront of Yoongi's face proudly, not a second later when she began to burst into a 'laughter of nothing'. Yoongi read the note again and again, it just made it worst, his cheeks became redder and redder.
Baby girl? I didn't know you were kinky
He really hated when she had the priority to underline her words, so people could get their attention on that word. But Yoongi never gave up, he wouldn't let others win the battle.
"But I bet you liked it, right?" His gummy teeth showing when Yoongi bit his lower lip, and twinched his eyebrows up and down. This made Yoongi look really silly, but what was more than that was when Jisoo turned away, still revealing her left cheek tinted a dark shade of pink, as she tried to ignore his words.
"So you did like it!!" Yoongi continued teasing her, he loved it when Jisoo blushed, just seeing her as red as a tomato satisfies him. He doesn't want to hurt her feelings or anything so he would always assure her that it was just a joke and they were supposed to be harmless.
He gripped her shoulder, trying hard to cheer her up. It somehow did make Yoongi uncomfortable whenever Jisoo avoids looking at him. Come to think of it, he was sometimes possessive as a friend, but he seldom attempted to improve his attitude. Jisoo had only made it worst.
Every Friday, Yoongi would do the honor of walking Jisoo home, just to make sure she was safe. Even after that incident a few moments ago, it made Yoongi didn't want to leave her again, everyone could agree that jerk was a weak duckling and even cotton could beat him up with a single punch. Yoongi still insisted to be the one to protect Jisoo with every chance he got. Even after all these days of being friends, however, Yoongi still hadn't known the full story from Jisoo. One month had passed, how does Jisoo feed herself, her café doesn't really help with alot of money, how did she eat? Down the streets is a living hell, in fact this whole town is. He wondered how Jisoo was able to survive, she still had her parents to feed, although she never mentioned about them before.
"Jisoo-ssi, do you live alone?" Yoongi asked, making Jisoo look into his eyes. A normal person would think twice before answering but only Jisoo wouldn't, because the Yoongi she knew had a soft heart on the inside, and would never hurt her. Jisoo nodded a yes, which then explained why it made Yoongi more curious. How was she able to live alone, especially as a girl?
"But, where are your parents?" This made Jisoo avert her gaze away from him. Her lips trembled a little as she walked slowly beside Yoongi. She held her notebook and pencil tightly, stared at it with a solemn face. An Unexpected, single tear dropped on the innocent paper. Yoongi could sense everything that was going on, and he was more than worried.
"It's okay Jisoo, you d-don't have to answer," he placed her hand on Jisoo's arm as he spoke, he was trying so hard to make her feel better, but she just couldn't cheer up. Jisoo shook her head, and pushed away Yoongi's hand lightly, and began to write on her notebook. Yoongi took a peek before Jisoo slowly showed him those words.
My parents passed away in a car accident... a few years ago
"O-oh, I'm sorry for asking," Yoongi looked away sadly, it was all because of his stupid curiosity again, now he had made Jisoo cry for the first time, he blamed himself even for a single tear that escaped Jisoo's pure eyes.
Without knowing, they had already reached Jisoo's house, or actually it was an apartment, a small apartment. Guilt built up in between Yoongi, he wished he could be there to at least help Jisoo. They had a long day and Jisoo needed to rest, Yoongi just wasn't ready to leave Jisoo for two days.
Now, A hug from Jisoo was already the best thing to happen for Yoongi but it completely heated up his whole face when Jisoo gave a soft peck on Yoongi's cheek. It was indeed like a heart was applied on his cheek from Jisoo's soft and unique lips. Yoongi didn't know what to feel, was he in love, with his best friend? When he came back to his senses, Jisoo had gone into her apartment, but Yoongi felt some stickiness on his forehead. He raised his hand up to touch his forehead, only to discover a sticky-note pasted there.
I'll always be fine when you're there with me -Jichu
He chuckled at the message Jisoo gave him, she could be the same dorky angel that could pass down meaningful messages. I guess Jisoo really likes having a friend, he thought. He decided to memorise Jisoo's apartment number, so he could give her a surprise visit the next day, after all, he only lived down the streets, not far away.
A/N: Sorry for the late update and it might be boring
