Chapter One: Rescued

Iruka's POV:

I sighed as I rested my head on my shoulders. I just had another day if teaching the kids, and it was normal.

But of course, I am still very tired.

I was about to fall asleep, not until I heard a loud thump followed by another from outside.

I opened my eyes, then stayed quiet, listening for any more movements. It was silent, only the night birds chirping.

I stood up and went outside by the red doors, then found a child with a boy beside her asleep.

Asleep or knocked out?

Worried for the two, I decided to carry them both. I soon teleported to the Hokage's office and knocked on the door.

I heard a soft grumble and opened the door.

"Lord Hokage! I found these two lying down in front of the academy." I explained.

The Hokage turned his head to look at me then down to the two that I am carrying.

"Hm.. Do they have any weapons with them? Are they injured?" After he asked that question, I examined the children.

"No, Lord Hokage." I said.

"Set them down." He ordered and I did as told.

"What should we do?" I asked.

He leaned back on his chair.

"Send them to the hospital in the morning to get them checked up. Then bring them here. And because the hospital is closed for now, maybe you can take them in. For now." He said.

I nodded my head, "Yes, Lord Hokage."

"You're excused." With that said, I took the two again and poofed away.

I sighed in relief while I set all my heavy gears down. I left the two to sleep on my bed, and let myself to settle down on the couch.

I leaned my head against the arm rest of the brown couch, and closed my eyes.

Morning:

"Shh...! Old man might hear us!" I heard a little girl's voice say.

I fluttered my eyes open, only to see the two awake and crouching.

"Uh... What are you doing?" They both stopped dead in their tracks, and slowly turned their heads towards me.

After seeing me awake, they immediately stood up straight like a soldier.

"Ahahaha..! We were just..-"

"Chasing a fly." The female continued.

I raised an eyebrow.

"That does not look like you're chasing a fly." After seeing that they're busted, they started tearing up and bawled.

"Wahh! We were caught, caught, caught!" The boy yelled.

"Iyah! Yuno, we're going to die now for sure!"

I sweatdropped at the scene in front of me, then nervously chuckled.

"Hey kids, I'm not here to hurt you." I said in a reassuring voice.

The girl was the one to first stop crying, then her expression quickly changed to a hopeful one. The boy with the same.

"Really? Does that mean we're safe?" She asked.

"Kind of. We'll still have to bring you to the hospital."

"Hos... pi.. tal..?" The girl's jaw dropped.

"Nah, old man! W-we're fine! No need!" The two waved their arms around.

"If that's the case, we'll have to tell Lord Hokage if you can skip the hospital."

"Yey!" They both cheered.

I chuckled and stood up.

"Get ready then. We're going to his office." I said and started getting dressed up.

"Lord Hokage, may I come in?" I asked while knocking on the door. Another soft mumble was heard and I took that as a sign to go in.

I opened the door along with the girl and the boy behind me, tugging along while hiding behind.

"Ah, Iruka." He said while nodding and I did nod back.

"Lord Hokage, these two have requested to not go to the Hospital." I said.

"They must. They have a few gashes and that boy over there, have new and old large wounds on his back. That girl has a tiny bone broken on her foot." He explained while I sweatdropped.

"A-ah, alright then, Lord Hokage. After that?"

"Actually, I will ask them a few questions first. You're excused."

I hesitated for a few moment, before nodding and obeying his order.

"Alright, Lord Hokage. If you may excuse me." I bowed down and teleported back to my home.
