Chapter 50: Mistakes

Noel's POV

We didn't even know where to start. I looked at the girl sitting next to me. I was already sure she was just like any other girl. Like my ex wife. She wouldn't care about you no matter how much of love and care you give her. And she certainly wouldn't be loyal. I focused on driving because I didn't want her to catch me looking at her.

"What's your name?" She asked, breaking the awkward silence in the car.

"Noel. Noel Darroway. You?"    

"Lily Connor."

Hmm. That's a nice name. It's my favourite character in Harry Potter. My mother gave her life to bring me to this world just like Lily sacrificed hers for Harry. And my father... Was a douche to me. The image of his belt crossed my mind and I shook my head.
'God! Focus on Sarah and Keith!' I told myself.

"Where do we start?"  I asked her.

"I think she stayed over at Keith's place." "So let's start there."

I sped up and at the same time I called Martin, Keith's bodyguard. I told him to bring the spare key to Keith's mansion as it was an emergency. After 10 minutes of weaving through the traffic we managed to get there. I saw martin waiting for us at the front door. We hurried to him and I patted his shoulder after receiving the key, "Thanks, Martin." We went inside the house and we were greeted by a huge mess. Heck! There was blood on the floor. Everything was smashed and the couch pillows' down feather was all around the house. Just by one look at my surroundings I could tell these were the results of one of Keith's anger tantrums. How was there blood? Did Keith hurt himself? Or was it Sarah's? Was she taken by someone? Lily had picked up a paper with a sticky note stuck to it.
"This is Sarah's handwriting," she announced.
I walked over to her and took a look at the papers.

It was the document I gave to Keith on the day he got married. I knew he wasn't happy with the marriage his father arranged for him, so I thought he could atleast get some good out of it. I saw what was written on the note, "I FINALLY UNDERSTAND YOUR FEELINGS FOR ME! IT IS " TRUE" LOVE. LEAVE ME ALONE."

Keith never wanted her company. Heck he makes 10 times the profit they do. This was all my fault! What have I done?

I sat on the couch and rested my head back and shut my eyes. I heard Lily swearing about Keith and I couldn't take it anymore. I let it out.

"Shut the fuck up! He didn't even think of this! I did, okay." "I suggested it. I prepared this document so fucking long ago. Look at the date!"
She looked at the date and her mouth was agape. It was their wedding date.

"I don't know why he kept it for so long but I swear he never had the intention of taking her company. He scolded me for suggesting it."

"Why would you suggest it?" She asked me.

"Because I wanted him to get some happiness out of that arranged marriage. That's what friends do."
"He eventually found happiness and I was happy for him but I didn't know it would be so short lived because of me."

Tears had fallen down my face uncontrollably. I never cried bit this was my friend. They are all I've got.

"I need to fix this." I said determinedly, getting up from the couch.

"I'll help you." Lily said as she held my hand. I quickly pulled away. I nodded at her and walked out of the house. I had to keep my distance with her. I don't want to make the same mistake of trusting a 'caring' girl twice. I just need her to find Sarah.

Soon as we were inside the car I asked her,"Where to next?"

"Sarah's parents." She answered confidently.
I looked at her in question.

"Sarah looks strong out front but she has a soft heart. She would need a friend or them when she's broken and upset."

She continued, "They would definitely have answers. And also, Keith's accident was all over the news. Why didn't any of them come to visit? I thought they were close to the Kirsts. There is definitely something going on there." She explained.

I frowned as I thought about it. She was right. It was fishy. Damn this girl is smart. I raced through the streets.

A/n: hey guys.... I'm sorry again. I had my exams. And I wanted to relax a bit after it. And I didn't want to write without relaxing. If I force it then what I write wouldn't be as good as I want it to be. I hope you guys understand. Hope you like the chapter. I feel sorry for Noel. He did have a terrible past. That would explain why he's such a jerk. Do you think Sarah's parents would spill the beans??? Keith and Sarah will end up together or would it be too late???? Stay tuned...
