I woke up feeling like shit. But that's kind of a given when you're sick. Blinking a little, I looked around at my surroundings. I wasn't at home. Then I saw a familiar window in the room I was in. Alex's room.

"What am I doing here?" I asked groggily as I sat up. Even the slowest movement of me getting up made my head turn and as I spoke, my throat singed and my voice was rough.

"You didn't seem to want to go back to your house so I figured I'd bring you here," I saw Alex, sitting on a bean bag against a wall opposite the bed. I slowly relaxed and lay back down on his bed.

"I told you I was fine.." I trailed off, suddenly feeling too tired to really protest anymore.

"Sshhhhhh," he said and placed a wet, warm sponge on my head. I moved away immediately, turning so my face was in the pillow.

"What's that?" I mumbled in the pillow. It really actually sounded like "Wa phat" though..

"Something to cool you down. Come on turn around," He said but I stayed still.

"Come on Aria!" He cried exasperatedly, turning me around and placing the wet sponge on my head once more.

"Ew," I frowned and said.

"Don't complain, it'll help," He glared and I glared back but he just rolled his eyes at me again. I tried to stay awake but it was no use. As much as I tried, I couldn't keep my eyes open. Soon, I drifted back into sleep again.

I woke up to my stomach growling and a cold wet sponge on my head. The ice cold sponge touching my hot skin made me shiver. I took it off and tossed it in a small bucket that was on the floor. Alex wasn't in the room. I slowly got up and walked out of the room, in hopes of finding him.

"Alex?" I called softly and gruffly, walking down the stairs in his house. But at the last step, I missed a step and fell forward.

"Aria!" Alex shouted catching me in time yet again.

"I'm okay! I'm okay!" I tried to say and pulled away from him. He let me go and cursed, running his hand through his hair in frustration.

"What were you doing?! You could have fallen! What if I wasn't there to catch you huh?!" He ranted, worry etched on his face.

"But you were," I rolled my eyes. He was being over dramatic.

"Don't roll your eyes at me Rose! You're sick! You're supposed to stay in bed and NOT DIE!"

"I'm NOT going to DIE! And don't tell me what to do. God, you're so annoying!" I exclaimed pushing him away. I ran past him and out onto the front lawn, crossing my arms. He's being so annoyingly overprotective for nothing, I thought. I heard him come up beside me.

"You're sick Rose. Don't run away. I'm just worried about you," He said exasperatedly, taking my arm and pulling me closer to him, "just please let me take care of you for once,".

"Why? You don't even know me," I was so confused. The only people I talked to were my dad and Tyler but I knew this wasn't how strangers who just met a few days ago treated each other.

"Why? I actually don't know," he shrugged and smiled crookedly but got serious again, "but I do know that if I let you run away now, I'll never forgive myself if something happened. You're burning as it is,"

I sighed and finally gave in. He softened his grip on my arm and led me back to his house.

Once he had helped me back onto his bed, Alex went down to get some soup. When he came back, he was carrying a steaming can of Campbell's and I burst out laughing at him for 5 minutes before calming down.

"Here eat," he said as he scooped some soup up and blew on it like I was a child.

"I can feed myself," I said stubbornly, taking the can from him. But my hands shook as they carried the can and I struggled. He rolled his eyes at me and cupped his hands around mine to steady them. Slowly, he held my hand and directed the spoon into my mouth

"Jeez, you are troublesome," he muttered whilst feeding me.

"I didn't ask you to do this," I retorted with my mouth full. He gave me a pointed look and I shut up, still glaring.

We spent the rest of the day watching movies with me falling asleep half the time to the rhythmic stroking of my hair. I had given in to everything and let my guard down for once.

When I woke up again Alex was asleep and our limbs were tangled around each other. I looked around the dark room sleepily. What time is it? I thought. It wasn't this dark just now..

I reached over Alex to grab my phone and check the time. 10.30pm. Shit. I was late. I had forgotten all about Tyler and my dad and they were probably worried sick right now. Whenever I skipped school it always wasn't until this late and plus I wouldn't skip missions and this is considered a mission. I pondered over calling them then and telling them about the 'mission' or telling them I'm at a friend's place. Just telling them I was at a friend's place would make them question me to death later like how they did the night I came back from the beach and I did not want a repeat of that. But telling them I was on a mission was way too risky what with Alex right next to me, sleeping or not, he might hear.

First, I decided, I should get out of this human net. I pulled away roughly and tried to untangle myself from Alex. Every time I succeeded though, he would pull me back to him in his sleep and boy was he strong. I could take down so many villains but not him. It was like as if he was as good a spy as me. Finally I gave up trying.

"Alex!" I hissed, slapping him.

"Alex!" I whispered again, trying to get him up.

"ALEX!" A voice called. This time though, I wasn't the one shouting.
