Monday
I HELPED THE principle carry Connor to the nurses office so that he can get fixed up. He was heavy as hell, and I didn't want to help, but I didn't want to be rude so I helped anyways.
"Here you are." The principle sighed as we placed him on the bed, I was about to leave when I heard the principle called me out, "Miss Pearson," he started out. "do you know why the fight started?" He finished, I raised an eyebrow.
"No, I don't, all I know is that Connor punched James and then Zac attacked him, I'm guessing that Zac was just defending for James, but I'm not a hundred percent sure about that." I answered with a shaky sigh at the end.
He nodded, "Thank you, now come with me to the office, I would like you to help me take care of James and Zac." He walked out of the nurses room with me trailing behind him. I decided to walk behind him because he reeked of whatever he was doing before the fight.
When we made it to office I heard voices in the attendance office, "I'm guessing they're here." He grumbled.
He opened the door and the voices then stopped and I saw the piercing brown eyes of Zac Brown. I gulped down the lump in my throat and gave him a tight smile. He just gave me a nod.
Zac looked horrible. His face had bandages, scratches, and bruises everywhere on his face. They we're raw and still bloody, and I couldn't look away from his cuts.
Mr. Cult cleared his throat and walked into his office, James followed him with me and Zac behind him.
"Are you ok?" I whispered to him.
"Why do you care?" He grumbled.
"Because your a friend." I answered a little hesitant.
I got a dry laugh from him, I flinched and I turned to him with a little fear tingling in my eyes, "Thanks, but no thanks, I'm not your friend, and I'm fine." He whispered back and I blushed when I felt his warm breath fan against my ear, and I also blushed when I smelt his bubblegum and mint breath.
I let out a sigh of relief when he leaned away, we stayed in silence, my blush never left my face because Zac's hand kept brushing against mine. The hallway was skinny and narrow, so he had to squeeze next to me so that teachers and other students walking by.
A student was walking by accidentally Zac and he bumped into me, making me almost fall on my face. I was expecting for the wall to save me, but instead Zac's arms wrapped around my tiny waste and I blushed.
He pulled me closer to him, my eyes stared into his, mine were wide along with Zac's. "U-Uh, sorry?" I stuttered.
Zac looked at me, "You ok?" I nodded my head rapidly.
He placed me back in my feet and I stood back up. "Th-Thanks." I mumbled looking down at my converse.
"Come on, we don't want Mr. Grump yelling at us, now do we?" I nodded walking behind him this time. I kept my head down trying to force the blush down my face.
Once we entered the room, the first person to look at us was James, he was smirking at me and Zac. He was also wiggling his eyebrows suggesting something dirty was done while we were behind. Zac flipped him off and I blushed more than needed.
James chuckled and turned back around in his chair. Zac sat down in the chair next to James, I looked around the room looking for a chair, I saw nothing I could sit on, so I sat on the ground in between James and Zac.
Zac looked down at me, "What are you doing?"
"I'm sitting, what do you think?" I smiled. He scoffed and turned back and looked at the principle that was glaring at Zac and James, not looking at me since I'm just a piece of raw meat that nobody liked. I smiled anyways.
"You two are in big trouble." He pointed at James and Zac giving them an icy glare, Zac's expression was blank as always, and James's looked amused.
"On a scale of one to ten how much are we in trouble?" Zac spoke up.
Mr. Cult didn't bother to answer, he just continued with his lecture. I leaned over to Zac and whispered an answer for him, "I believe your a million out of ten here Zac, I don't think your able to get out this one with your cocky attitude." I felt Zac roll his eyes.
After Mr. Cult's lecture to James and Zac, he finally got to the point and said that they were suspended. And that they could come back in two weeks.
I started pouring because I would have to do the project alone and that sucks.
I was walking down the hallway after leaving the office. I saw Zac a few feet in front of me, almost getting ready to leave, "Hey Zac," I called him before he exited the school. He turned towards me and I saw that he was wearing glasses, I swooned a little and then mentally slapped myself for swooning over the guy that was named 'Mr. Mental' at school.
"Yes?" He asked giving me a look.
"Uh- are you still up to come over to my house tomorrow?" I asked fiddling with the hem of my shirt.
"Um, why?" He asked.
I looked at him dumbfounded, "For the project."
"Oh, ya, that." He mumbled.
"So?"
"Ya, like I said, I'm free the whole week." He confirmed.
My eyes brightened for some reason and I felt giddy inside knowing that I wouldn't have to do the project alone.
I nodded, "So, do you need my number for my address?" I asked.
"Ya, here, give me your phone." He handed me his phone and I reached into my pocket and I handed my own to him.
I placed my number in his phone and handed it back to him. I labeled myself, 'Ball of Sunshine'.
"Ball of Sunshine? Really?" He asked giving me a, 'are-you-stupid?' look.
I looked down and saw that he labeled himself 'Mr. Mental'. I rolled my eyes, "Says the one that labeled them self as, 'Mr. Mental'." I gave him his 'are-you-stupid?' look back at him.
He rolled his eyes and turned around and left. "Bye to you too!" I exclaimed, I smiled and walked back into the school ready for lunch.
