GWEN'S POV

I FROWNED DEEPLY as I looked at the sleeping form of my father. I finally decided to come back here and see dad, I haven't been here since the last time I was here with Zac. I normally visit him weekly, but I guess I didn't have enough mental strength to actually see him.

I was holding his hand, squeezing his hand ever so often, informing him about the adventures I've had for the past month. From the time I got assaulted by Connor, to Zac asking me out.

Zac was out somewhere, I don't know where, but he knew I needed some time alone with my dad, and he gave me it.

"I am so happy to have Zac in my life, dad. You have no idea. He's been so patient, polite, and loving towards me. Even though he just asked me out a week ago, we've spent every day together, and he's been nothing but trusting, loving, and such a gentlemen to me. I'm so happy that I got to have him in my life. I really, really am..." I finished off.

I blinked away the tears and exhaled. I got up from my seat and kissed his forehead. "I love you, dad." I decided it was time to leave, since I've been blabbering on and on about my issues to him for the past two in a half hours.

I walked to the lobby quietly and soundly, dialing Zac's number.

"What up, Sunshine?" He answered cheekily.

I smiled at his nickname and hit my lip, "Hey kiddo," I joked.

"Says the one that's younger than me." He accused.

I chuckled, "Where are you?"

"I'm just in the lobby waiting, why?"

"I'm just ready to go." I answered somberly.

"You okay?" He asked gently.

I smiled at his loving ways, "I'll tell when we meet face to face," I told him, we ended the call after a few words were said.

I entered the elevator and sighed, listening to the awkward elevator music, and the sound of silence.

I walked out of the elevator and walked towards the lobby. I smiled in delight when I saw Zac already walking towards me with arms wide open for a hug. I gladly took it.

"Are you okay?" He asked me again.

I stayed silent, blinking several times to get rid of the tears. "No..." I said honestly. Zac nodded, not pushing me, and just rubbed circles on my back soothingly.

I pulled away from the hug, and grabbed onto his hand, "Let's just go." I mumbled, he bit his lip and nodded again.

"Want to make cookies when we get to your house?" He suggested.

I smirked, "Be prepared to taste the most best cookies in your life, Brown." I challenged.

Zac cackled, "If that's a challenge then I won't take it, my cooking skills are horrible," he stated swinging our hands back and forth.

I poured, "Come on, I can show you how to make them!" I tried to convince him.

He rolled his eyes, "Fine. You may teach me, Sunshine." I giggled and jumped into Zac's truck with excitement. "You're going to be in heaven in about an hour, Zac." I assured as Zac turned on the car.

"Okay, I believe you. Let's just hope I don't barf and go to hell instead." He teased, driving out of the parking lot.

I gasped and hit his arm, causing him to laugh. "My cookies are amazing!" I stated loudly.

Zac stopped at a red light and took his time to look over at me, he took my hand in his and leaned in for a kiss. It lasted a few seconds before he pulled away, he then mumbled, "I think I'm already in heaven."

He then turned away and started driving down the street, I was left with a tomato of a face.
