"Rule Breaker"

AARON's P.O.V

A prince's way is to help those in need; the weak and poor. But I were not to help, in any way, shape or form, any light. I took the lights as many things, but I didn't take them for fools. I specifically replied to their request for help with a "no". And when a bunch of them asked to meet me and my father I was confused as to which part they failed to understand.

They lost their daughter and it had nothing to do with us. Those filthy lights should've known that when they killed my mother I swore I would not help them a single time in my whole eternity. I showed no emotion at all as I watched their excuse of a king ask in a pleading voice for our help. I denied numerous times, but somehow my father managed to convince me that I was doing this for the kingdom; not for them.

"What do you offer Connor?" My father's voice fled across the room in which me, my father and a filthy light were standing.

With a sad face Connor looks at my father. "Anything. I told you, William-

"He's your highness to you, you excuse of a king!" I correct his words in anger. He does nothing but avert his gaze to my father again and correct himself.

"Your highness; even my head if you want it on a golden plate." A smile tried to brake my angry expression at his words but I dispatched it remaining emotionless. "you can have my throne William, just find her." This time I fail to correct him as his words sink in. "Although my begging should e enough shouldn't it?"

"Shut it!" I yell at him turning my back. "They are not going to get any help from me, understood?" I whisper to my father as he smiles and whispers back to me. "I'm still the king here son,"

"Unfortunately." I shrug.

A more serious expression invades his features as he hears my words. "Regardless, you will find that whore of lights and when you do we'll finally take over their kingdom." He chuckles again.

"William?" Connor's voice is heard breaking into our 'conversation'.

"I said shut it you bastard!" I hear him growl at my orders and as soon as I am about to turn around and plant hard and much deserved punches on him my father puts his hands on my shoulders and does so for me. "My son will find you daughter Connor, and when he does I won't hesitate to allow him to keep her if you don't keep your word." I wrinkle my nose in disgust as I understand what father means with keeping her.

I would never.

Connor nods but refuses to allow his head to hang down. At least he has some pride left in him, regardless he didn't deserve none of my help.

"I was with her last." I hear a voice steal my disgusted and somewhat amused voice from the king to a light blonde haired girl which was accompanied by a pair of dark green eyes. There were no vampire traits about her, I'd guess she was a human if I hadn't smelled frog tongue when she approached giving away the fact she was a witch. She was tall; I noticed that as she came towards me and bowed a few of her hair strands falling in front of her. "Your majesty, I'm Aura," She introduces herself as my father and Connor make their way out with as much space between them as was possible. "I'm Vega's best friend."

Confused takes over me for a split second.

Who in the flames of hell was Vega? I silently laugh over my stupidity as I assume that's how they call their princess; weird name.

"Aaron." I say in a flat tone. She takes a quick breath allowing her eyes to widen just a bit at my name. As strange as that looked, her eyes widening at my name as if in recognition, I shrugged it off. "Look girl I don't have all hell, speak up. What exactly happened?" I ask from her in a very non-prince like tone but looking for that Vega girl was the last thing I wanted to do. How I wish I could be looking for my mate instead.

"V and I were at my place, she was hungry and thirsty soo we tried hunting down a human." Her words come out in the most casual way I'd ever heard.

I shook my head in disbelief. "Isn't that against the rules?"

"Oh Prince Aaron, if you knew Vega even the least or if you've paid any attention to what I have been telling you, you'd know that following rules is not what she's known for."

"You're her best friend right?" I sent a judgemental glance her way after admiring for a split second the fact that their princess wasn't one who obeyed rules; damn that almost made me smirk.

"Obviously." She says.

"How is it even possible to lose a best friend Aura? How careless can you be? Aren't you girls supposed to annoy each other all the time? I mean B-F-Fs right?" I mock her.

I saw a spark light up in her eyes and that made me regret what I'd said as her features were now accompanied with anger and annoyance. She lets out an angry chuckle. "With none of my respect, prince Aaron," she pauses to angrily look at me as I kept my flat face. "You too were your mother's son imagine where she would be if you would have 'annoyed' her all the time. I mean children and their mothers right?"

"How dare yo-"

"I dare the same way you just did!" With a fierce look she cuts me off shamelessly. "Suck it up mister goody too shoes, not everyone is going to allow you to put them down like that. I am here for one goddamn reason; Vega. I owe you nothing and I'd lose absolutely zero shit if I laid a curse on you right now."

"ok-"

"A boy, brown hair, hazel eyes mid twenties. He had a horse, and the fact that his hairstyle was much better than yours doesn't surprise me." I am taken back by her outburst. And I was sure I showed it more than I should've seeing that her words gave her more confidence.

I try to hide my shock with a chuckle. "Take me there."

"How sweet you want me to carry you too?"

"Listen, witch-"

"No you listen, dick. You find her, and when you do you can rub that in my face because the only reason I haven't said anything to object to this is the simple reason that king Connor couldn't find her. And if he couldn't, no one will be able to as much as I don't want to admit that. Kapish? So please, prove me wrong."

I nod with a smile. "With pleasure."

"This is where the horse was." She pointed to a particular place near a tree. I walked near the place and took numerous sniffs. Surprisingly I smelled a faint scent of blood and roses. Looks like Blondie was here too.

"Was somebody else with the two of you?"

"No. Just me and V." I cringed at the one lettered nickname she kept using for her. "You sure?"

She let out a frustrated sigh clearly at my questions. "Yes, I'm sure, besides if there was anyone else I didn't see them."

Confused and questioning my senses I kept looking around and not being able to find any other scent that should've belonged to Vega's I followed the one that led to the human.
