Chapter ten – rewrite
"No escape plan"
VEGA's P.O.V
I had absolutely no plan as to what in hell I was going to do when I started getting anxious about the fact that Prince Bentley had no intention whatsoever of letting me leave. Simply teleporting myself back wasn't an option, seeing that he'd probably try and look for me. And that was an even louder no. The last human that found out about us was tracked down and tortured to death; and Prince Bentley was just too good of a soul for me to allow that to happen to him, or to any of his people for that matter.
Poor Violet and Amelia; they barely received half the love and happiness they spread.
Amelia showed me around the garden after I'd asked her if they did in fact have one. After a few minutes of her protesting to do so with the excuse that she had to do dishes I finally convinced her by offering my help afterwards.
I felt like a grandmother in comparison to Amelia, not just by the huge age gap of some hundreds of years but also by our heights and sizes. She was such a petite girl, yet so gracefully charming and with vivid blue eyes that contrasted her ginger hair so well. I began wondering why Bentley hadn't taken an interest in her yet, or maybe he had and he just didn't want to show it. I guess being a prince and falling in love with one of your maids is still considered cliché and not usual in the human world even in the twenty first century.
"These are pincushions, sugarbushes and of course the roses." She said pointing a bunch of different types of flowers. Although I did water and take care of the roses in our garden back home I struggled to identify which names belonged to which flowers; except the roses of course, I'd recognize those anywhere. "And here are the petunias, lilies and lots and lots of hydrangeas. I take care of them every day." She smiles.
"They're lovely, I love them!" I exclaim bringing my face down to smell the nice bush of flowers.
"Thank you Miss." She replies shyly.
"Oh please Amelia you can call me Vega," I inhale deeply. "That is if I can call you Amelia, is that alright?" I turn to face the read head copying her smile as soon as my hazel eyes meet her green ones. She is quick to nod in affirmation.

"Mom and dad are on a business trip," Bentley said as Amelia filled his glass with whatever drink they'd prepared for a late lunch as another maid did the same for me. Bentley smiled up at her with a thank you and her cheeks began turning a light shade of pink, she offered the same smile as she continued spreading food on the table. "They'll be back in a week or two." He smiled. I hadn't said much. Allowing my cheek to rest on my palm I gazed at Amelia with a soft smile; that same smile began growing bigger once I realized that Bentley was also looking at the redhead who was spreading plates across the massive table; but with a much wider smile. (Plates that I took part in washing mind you).
"She's such a lovely girl don't you think?" I say causing him to brake his gaze from her and back to his plate that consisted of some chicken breast some rise and other vegetables that I couldn't pronounce and even if I tried I would probably guess wrong.
"Y-yeah yeah, lovely girl, I mean she is just so," he gulps and does awkward movements with his hands and I chuckle at whatever he was trying to say. "Cheerful you know? And smiley," he pauses taking in what he'd just said. "Smiley? Dear lord, I'm sorry I didn't mean to-."
Amelia hides her giggle by hanging her head down accidentally overfilling a glass with juice resulting for I to spill o the table. She grabs a napkin and apologizing at the both of us. "It's alright love allow me to help you." In an instant prince Bentley got up from his chair almost tripping over his own feet in the process.
"I-It's alright your highness." Amelia fails to hide her blushed cheeks as he insists and I am given such an amiable show. I smiled like an idiot for long seconds before an image of Aaron came to me and my smile disappeared. Thankfully none of them seemed to notice my sudden change of mood.

I had adopted a cornered space on a couch that was exceptionally further from the rest while Amelia and Bentley engaged in a conversation and I helped myself out of it.
I had a book on my hand to help the act; I was trying to think everything through without looking too suspicious. Imagine a mad girl sitting alone on a couch admiring the wall and its decorations for hours; instead a mad girl reading the same two book pages over and over again would be less attention drawing right?
Wrong.
"Vega are you okay?" Violet asks in a concerned voice snapping me out of my thoughts. My father had done so much to keep me out of trouble since my mother had died, and yet here I was; not entirely in trouble but not exactly out of it either. "Y-yes I'm good." I reply and zone out again not paying much attention to the fact that Violet was still standing close to me. "Are you sure?" I hear her voice pierce through my thoughts again. "Vega?"
I jolt my head up at her with a soft expression. "I'm fine thank you; I think I just need some air." I smile. The dining hall had a pretty an amazingly simple build to it; the left wall across the table was all covered with windows and glass doors. It seemed like every castle I'd visited had this "run in the garden through melted and shaped sand" type of interior design. But I was fine with it; it gave me a fake feeling of home.
