Chapter thirteen
"Devil bless us all; I'm so wrong"
VEGA's P.O.V
All night went on with me laying on my back on my bed with all the lights and candles turned off; the smallest amount of light that managed to peek through was from the moon herself through my windows the shadows of which manage to print themselves on the black mattress of my bed.
From five or four hours of only thinking I had only come to one conclusion. I had, just had to tell my parents about Aaron being my mate. Father already seemed to hate him enough so giving him another reason wouldn't hurt right?
Wrong.
Dead wrong.
I didn't even have the smallest idea of how they'd react; ofcourse I'd thought of the possibility of my father becoming mad enough to stab me with his fingers and Isabelle fainting to death but that's dark, even for me.
Breaking rules wasn't something I wasn't actually familiar with; in fact I was the rule breaking one, the daughter that kept rebelling even more when you told her not to. I would be the first person to volunteer for shooting an arrow over someone's head and I'd miss. At first not on purpose obviously, but once I'd be told not to do it again I'd probably squint my eyes enough to only have a blurry figure of the apple. And then just to make sure I'd pretend to sneeze right after I let go of the string.
So basically you get the idea that they wouldn't be surprised if I were caught doing something that was in complete contradiction to their or any rules at all.
Surprise would probably be the last expression displayed on their faces when I speak, just saying.

"I guess you all want to know the truth then," I say in a hurry with a racing heart, and to them it seemed completely out of the blue but I had been practicing for five or more minutes of how to start the conversation.
My crime scene was the throne room, and I was about to commit.
Veronica shoots me a confused look and then quickly widens her eyes when she silently understands what I'm about to do. She visibly objects to my decision
"What dear?" Isabelle gives me the same confused face as Ver.
" I um," I stutter nervously gulping my fear down. "I found my mate." I say earning a smile from both of them. A smile as in "we already know you have, we don't know who it is but we're happy you've done something good for once in your life" and I wasn't accepting that smile. "Aaron," I exhale. "Is my mate."
Those pitiful smiles leave their faces in an instant.
"Devil bless us all are you finally insane?" my father says. "This is not possible! He's a blood ho- how do you even know?"
"That's all I'm saying." I offer copper plates to my father's table. But he wants gold, and silver wouldn't do it for him either.
"Vega you better be playing a trick on us! I will not accept this!" Isabelle shocks me by her high voice. I'd never heard her yell before. She was always so calm, well until now at least. After a long second of silence my father has left his throne alon again, as he did in these situations we had quite often unfortunately. He looks down at me in desperation, as if he wanted me to tell him this was just one of my "all too real" and inappropriate jokes just so he didn't have to tell me whatever he was clearly going to next. "The prophecy is true..." He mutters.
"What?" The blonde woman keeps looking back and forth at all of us. At my father, Veronica and then me, and so forth a couple of times before my father speaks again to wipe the confusion from my face.
"The witch who cursed us," my father gulps. He seemed too calm. Way too calm. "She said that a light and a blood will become mates, for the simple reason of reminding us what I h- WE have done." He tries covering up the way he just used first person. Why? "It's all written in a book. Let's go to the library."
My only question right then and there was why?
