Chapter 5

In Robin's offices at work, Robin knocked on his supervisor's door and said "Morgan?"

"Robin?" Morgan said.

"Can I speak to you please?" Robin said.

"Come in." Morgan said.

Once Robin shut the door the endless ringing of phones and typing of computers were silenced.

"Sit." Morgan said.

"Morgan I-"

"Want something?" Morgan said, interrupting Robin.

Robin closed his eyes, raised his eyebrows and said "Yes. I-"

"Robin I'm not giving you anymore over time." Morgan said.

"Can-can I just tell you? Can you let me speak? Overtime isn't even what I'm asking for." Robin said.

"Yes, sorry what is it?" Morgan said sewing his fingers and leaning in.

"Is there some way I can cut my hours? But in the last week of August? I have to take care of my children and their grandmother refuses to do it now." Robin said.

Morgan sighed and said "I can do it in July."

"But Morgan I said August. I can work right now it's just I'm getting help as of now, help that will be gone in August." Robin said.

"The offer is July Robin, besides I already have people on a waiting list that are more qualified than you are." Morgan said.

Robin sighed and said "Thank you." Standing up and leaving.

"Robin! Remember! Smile and no sighing." Morgan said.

"I hear you Morgan." Robin said, shutting the door behind him. Robin wrapped his arms around himself and sighed.

Robin walked to Kenya's house and knocked on her door. Ben answered the door. "Afternoon Robin." He said.

"Can you ask Miss Kenya to come to the door?" Robin said.

"Yeah." Ben said.

Kenya came to the door and said "Hello Robin."

"Miss Kenya I-I'll pay you to watch the triplets it's just I don't want to lose m hours." Robin said.

"Not until Amir apologizes to me. He forbade me to see them. I'm sorry." Kenya said shutting the door.

Robin gulped and walked off the porch.

Robin opened the door to the apartment and saw Amir and the yelling and screaming triplets.

"Wassup Robin!" Amir said.

"Hi." Robin said dragging his feet to the bedroom

"Mommy!" AJ said hopping off the chair and following Robin.

"Hi Mommy!" Serena said.

Keyon smiled at Robin and waved, digging in his nose.

"Key-uh. Never-mind." Robin grumbled.

"Robin you good?" Amir said.

"Yeah." Robin weakly said.

"Where you going?" AJ said.

"Huh?" Robin turned around to see AJ smiling, waiting for an answer.

"I have to-go to the bathroom." Robin said shutting the bathroom door behind him.

Robin sat on the toilet seat, his lips trembled and tears ran down his cheeks. Robin sobbed to himself, alone. Robin jolted each time he sobbed.

In the corner of Robin's eye he saw tiny fingers under the door.
