In Jermaine's apartment Amir looked up numbers on his phone and called one of them.
"Good morning, this is Amir Davis." Amir said.
"From...Audition?" A man said.
"Yes, this is he. I want to put another ad out." Amir said.
"Alright I'll see where we can put you...how is...July?" He said.
Amir gagged and said "July!? No, no, no I mean February at latest."
"We're filled through June Mr.Davis I'm sorry. By for an extra 5% we can put you in for April." He said.
Amir pinched the bridge of his nose and said "No. Thank you. Have a great day."
"You the same sir, goodb-
Amir hung-up and said "Shit! I barely have the money and that's if they consider me! Extra 5% my ass!"
"Ay yo! Quit yelling man! I said you could hide from Robin here, not scream!" Jermaine said from his bedroom.
"Sorry!" Amir said thrashing on Jermaine's futon.
"Hey G I got a joke!" Jermaine said.
"No!" Amir shouted.
"Remember what Robin said that day when he came from the market!?" Jermaine said.
"No!" Amir said.
"Why you so stingy with the money Amir? I should find a man with more money than you!" Jermaine said in his best Robin impersonation.
"Shut up! Shut up! Shut up! Shut up! Shut up! Shut up! Shut up!" Amir said.
Jermaine shouted while Amir yelled saying, "Well this at point any nigga with a job is a upgrade from you!" Jermaine laughed.
"Ima punch that stutter back in your mouth goofy ass nigga!" Amir said.
"Ooooooo and ima tell Robin!" Jermaine laughed. Jermaine came from the back with a green work vest on and said "Forreal G what you telling about?"
"Man...TechCrunch said they booked through June and want more money if I want my app included in April and that's a consideration price so it's IF they put it in." Amir said.
"Sounds like a scam." Jermaine said.
"It is. But it's necessary. I gotta get the word out, again. I got my app in order but now I gotta remind people it exists. Man ima pick my kids up." Amir said.
"You sure about that G?" Jermaine said.
"Ima tell Robin they let me out early, he believes it." Amir said.
"Aight G, chase that bag. Keep your head up." Jermaine said dapping Amir.
"I'll slide through again G." Amir said.
"Ay yo I'm telling you though, they hiring for security and they want huge niggas down there, pay ain't as good as your last job but it's still good and full time." Jermaine said.
"It ain't gonna come to that G." Amir said.
"I hope not G." Jermaine said.
In the apartment bathroom Robin plucked hair from his lips and growled each time he yanked a hair out.
Amir laughed and said "Why you put yourself through that?"
"Because looking flawless 24/7 is no easy task." What we doing for the triplets' birthday?"
Amir shivered and said "Uh...you can bake a cake and...we can go to my mother's house and we can all play hide and seek-"
In the mirror Amir watched as Robin slowly closed his eyes, curled his lip and said "Do we have financial problems?"
