Aces P.O.V.

I wake up alone in my dark room as the dull ache in my head reminds me that the mate bond still curses me with this pain. I close my eyes and allow a single tear to fall when I hear the scream of my beloved cockatoo from somewhere else in the pack house. Violet stirs violently causing me to growl loudly before quickly getting up from the bed and ripping the door from its hinges. Her screams fill the house again before they are abruptly silenced causing anger to course through my veins, rage builds up in my chest as I storm through the house. My growl freezes the living room where two people I didn't recognize were trying to stuff my Marshmallow into an unfamiliar cage. They stare in shock at me before slowly releasing my lovely bird, who almost immediately flies to me, and the two slowly back away from me to the door. Another growl escapes me before I notice Reed tackle one of the men and the other pounced through the glass, making a desperate escape.

I growl lowly before looking at the young bird, who sat trembling on my shoulder. The rage that once held my heart hostage vanished and left my heart in the grip of guilt and pity for the loving bird. I gently pet her head, which she thoroughly enjoyed before she flinches away from the gathering of people around us. I narrow my eyes slightly, feeling a bit of anger towards these people who I knew could heard my bird in distress and did nothing. Soon Jay walks in seeming to have woken up from a nap but I growl lowly at the group in front of me.

"How could nobody hear her screaming when it woke me up?" I ask lowly, most of the people averting their eyes but my father. He stares me dead in the eye and I growl lowly, a new feeling of hate building in my chest. My eyes narrow slightly as I feel Violet push for control. I close my eyes and allow myself to slip to the back of my mind, allowing Violet control.

I growl lowly at the people and they all submit to me but the Alpha, his wolf is vivid that I had the courage to stand up to his word. We stare at one another for a moment before he shifts into his wolf but I growl lowly at him not bothering to shift into my beautiful form.

The small squeak from the bird that day on my shoulder makes me pause and I slowly submit to his wolf, bearing my neck to him. He buffs before vanishing up the stairs but I still glare at the pack as hate begins to build up in my chest. Jay attempts to get close to us but I growl lowly. Warning him away from us for the moment. Reed slowly approaches and submits to me, his eyes never meeting my own.

"Violet, I could do nothing to help Marshmallow because your father used an alpha command on us all. We are innocent here. Your father only sees her as your weakness." He explains and I hear the truth behind his words. I snarl lowly and bear my canines.

"It looks like this pack will be needing a new Alpha."
