Chapter 17: Battles

James P.O.V.

    I growl as I look at the map of my enemy's territory, taking in the various landscapes that could hide the wolves who stole my Ace. My warriors watch with unease as I scan the map until a cry pierces the silence. My eye twitches in irritation as I slowly stand and leave the room without a word and climb the stairs to Crystals room.

  I opened the door to the toddler crying in her crib, her now long black hair was dirty and her cheeks looked a tad hollow.  Her blue eyes stared at me full of fear and her cries halted. Bone growls lowly at me for the condition his pup was in and I push him back not wanting his weakness. I growl at the pup lowly, who whimpers in fear of me. I leave the room to return to the plans when Bone forces me to stop and move towards the kitchen.

'Feed my pup you coward' His hate for me was obvious when he spoke to me now, but I complied to his demand and hurriedly threw some fruits in a small plastic bowl and poured some orange juice in a sippy cup for her. I make my way towards my pups room and pause outside for a moment, now hearing soft whimpering coming from the distressed pup. Bone growls lowly again and I open the door and step towards my pup, holding out the food and juice to her.

   She hesitates before gently taking the food and juice without looking at me as I stared at her. "Thank you Alpha" Her small voice sounded before she began slowly eating the tiny meal. Bone whined softly but I simply grunted as a reply and slammed her door closed behind me. I grunted and sauntered over to the room where my warriors waited for me but paused when voices reach me.

"Alpha isn't in his right mind," a first voice says "I know, but we don't have anywhere else to go, and you know Cindy is about to have my pups" A second voice pitched in before my new Beta growls at them "Shut up morons. He is your Alpha so just obey him."

I step in soon after my Beta speaks and smile at the men, "Sorry about that men. Now can anyone tell me who we can ally with?" I look towards one of my warriors who cringes and clears his throat, "Alpha. Ace has many packs allied with her own and Jasmine won't allow her allies to side with us. We only have the BloodMoon pack willing to help us." I growl at the information and grin nastily, "Well looks like we have to win this to regain our respect"

The men look up towards me and nod in understanding and I growl lowly "We strike tomorrow" I say as soon as a warning howl reaches us. I pale and chuckle darkly as the howls come closer.

"Seems as if Ace is already on the attack"
