I run swiftly in Violets form, expertly dodging trees and making my paws silent against the ground. We were stronger and it make me happy to feel Violet finally going back to who she once was. I leap onto Reeds back and let out a wolfy laugh as he tumbles to the ground with a grunt, I wag my fluffy tail as I dart away from him deeper into the forest. I pause to drink from a river when I notice another wolf watching me in confusion, and I tilt my head at the unfamiliar wolf. He was a solid black wolf, no other color on his shiny pelt, so I decided to do something stupid. I knew what rouges were and I was aware the wolf in front of me was rouge, but I wanted to be different and not attack him on sight.
I lower myself to my belly and slowly crawl up to him, he watches me with stunning orange eyes and his own tail wags slightly. When I finally reach him I look up at him and he touches his own nose to mine. My tail wags and I stand, meeting his eye level and I pad off to where we had clothing hidden. I shift to my human and pull on my shorts and a black shirt, I come out and hold out a bundle of clothes for him.
"Could you please shift so we can talk?" I ask softly and he watches me before gently taking the clothes from my hands and padding off behind a tree. After a few moments a man with dark hair and stunning blue eyes comes into my vision. I try to ignore the attraction I feel and clear my throat.
"I'm Ace" I smile and he suddenly smiles, a warmth in his eyes telling me to trust him and to not be afraid of this male. Violet even seems to have a slight interest in his wolf, but we have yet to really meet him.
"I'm Jay" His deep voice responds and I nod in acknowledgement
"Nice to meet you Jay, you know you're on my packs land. Right?" I knew that he was aware, but I can't just question him about his life right after I meet the guy.
"Yes, and I'm sorry. Thank you for not attacking us." he bows his head slightly, no longer meeting my eyes.
"May I ask why you're here" I ask, curious why such a nice person was a rouge, but he pauses a sudden pained look taking over his face.
"Well, my pack was destroyed. They killed my mate, my family, and my alpha. I just, I ran away" Shame was evident in his voice and I pause for a moment before smiling.
"Come on, you should tell my Alpha and you should get something to eat." His eyes snap to mine and shock is evident on his face before he smiles warmly.
We silently walk to the pack house, as we near the pack house after walking for a while a couple of wolves growl at my guest making me growl loudly, most of the wolves looked away and the rest bared their neck in submission. I guide him into the house and make him sit at the dining table, going through the fridge looking for leftovers.
'Father, I have someone in the dining room to speak to you' I mindlink my father and warm up the large container of beef stew. My father comes stomping down the stairs and places a small kiss on my cheek before softly talking to Jay. I only went in to give Jay the stew and some juice before going to the couch where a certain beast sat, tearing apart the keyboard to someones abandoned laptop.
"Marshy" I playfully scold earning a soft scream of greeting. I plop myself onto the couch and the bird is sitting on my stomach the instant I'm comfy. I chuckle and begin to groom at her feathers, making her fall asleep as I worked for a while. My father comes up from behind me with Jay, and I looked back at him.
"So?" I question him, lifting an eyebrow. Father smiles warmly and runs his fingers through my hair, making me smile.
"Show our new pack member to his room, he will be your guard from this day forward" I nod in understanding, knowing I'm too trusting with just about anyone. I stand and Marshy now on my hand and head up the stairs with Jay tailing me. I come to the empty room beside my own and look at Jay with a small smile.
"Welcome home Mr. Guard." My little joke makes him smile but I suddenly feel a sharp pain in my chest. I cry out and fall to the ground, clutching my chest where the pain comes from, James is mating I thought it was finally over. Tears fall down my cheeks and Jays stares at me in shock, even when my father tries his best to comfort me. I cry out again when the pain becomes worse, I claw at my chest trying to get the pain out.
Suddenly Jay is at my side and he gently holds my hand as blood begins to drip from my nose, he places a hand on my cheek and as suddenly as it began, the pain begins to fade. As Marshy screams in fear, my father sobs into my hair, and as darkness floods my vision. Jay smiles weakly at me, and he tightens is grip on my hand.
How did he make it go away?
