Elevator ~ e.d.

It's been a few days since I've spoken to her. I've seen here making copies and in the elevator but neither of us spoke to one another.

I'm guessing she's had a really rough time lately because just the other day she walked into the elevator with big red puffy eyes.

I'm assuming it's that piece of shit boyfriend of hers.

I'm sure she'll talk to me sooner or later. I don't want to push her into anything especially if she's having a hard time with her boyfriend.

I let out a sigh as I press the button to get onto the elevator. It's been another late day at work and I'm finally heading home.

I step into the elevator and press the button for the first floor. The doors glide closed and i begin to drop.

I stop about three floors down telling me that someone pressed the button to get on. I mentally groan. I just want to get home.

The doors swing open and there's Katie. I instantly smile at her. "Why are you here so late?" I ask furrowing my eyebrows because she's just an intern. Surely they don't keep interns here this late.

"Oh uh I broke up with brad last night and I've been trying to avoid going home." She says and I immediately fall silent. I want to cheer but I also want to wrap her up in my arms. "I'm sorry. I probably shouldn't have told you that. It's just I feel like I can tell you things." She rambles.

"It's fine." I chuckle. "So you're going home now?" I ask raising my eyebrow. "Yeah wish me luck." She giggles.

Then an idea pops into my head. It's definitely not a good idea. "Would you like to come back to my place?" I blurt. She turns and looks at me quickly. "I-i just figured you've been having a hard time lately and you could use something to take your mind off things. And you can kill more time." Now it's my turn to ramble.

"Sure." She shrugs and my eyes widen. She giggles at my silence.

"I-I'll drive." I stammer.
