Elevator ~ e.d.

My heart jump starts as she steps into the elevator. This is something that happens often. She never fails to have this effect on me.

"Hi." She speaks shyly. I send her a bright smile. "You look great." I blurt. She chuckles and looks down at her familiar pencil skirt.

"So about that date." She says turning to me. "What about it?" I ask trying to play it cool even though I'm freaking out on the inside.

"When were you planning on going?" She ask nervously. I could tell she didn't know what to say. She was at a loss for words and that made her seem even more cute.

"How about Saturday night." I say cooly. She smiles. "Perfect." She says as the elevator doors swing open.

I'm left by myself slightly cheering at the fact that I have a date with her. The girl I've been gawking over for weeks now.

Saturday

My hearts beating wildly as I walk up to her door. Something tells me she won't like me even though she agrees to go on this date.

I lift my hand up and bring it down against the door. Not even 20 seconds later the door swings open and I'm in awe.

"Wow." Is all I manage to say. Her simple red dress compliments her skin tone and hugs her well, sending me into a frenzy.

"You look good too." She chuckles. I hold out my hand and she's quick to take it.

"So where are we going exactly?" She ask as we walk down the long hallway. "A nice restaurant that I know of." I grin.

As we reach my car I open her door for her earning a chuckle. After she's in I make my way to my side.

"This place better be good because I'm starving." She jokes as I shift my car into drive. "You'll love it." I smirk. Her cheeks turn a light shade of pink and I turn my focus back towards the road.

As we make it to the restaurant her eyes light up. "I've been meaning to try this place." She exclaims excitedly. I chuckle at her excitement and unfasten my seatbelt. "Well today's your lucky day."

As we hop out of the car my hands quick to find the small of her back. She smiles up at me and I swing the door open for her.

"Hello." The over excited lady says over the soft music. "Reservations for Dolan please." I mutter with a half smile.

"Right this way." She beams. My hand still rest on Katie's back as we follow the lady. "Your server will be right with you." The lady smiles as we take our seats. I mutter a thank you and glance at Katie.

"This place is beautiful." She says taking everything in. "I'm glad you like it." I say with red cheeks. Well there goes the idea of me displaying confidence.

"Hi I'm Alex and I'll be your server. What Can I get you guys to drink?" The young man smiles. We both give him water as our answer and he speeds off to the back.

"So is there anything I should try?" She giggles taking in the large menu. I chuckle. "Well Grayson and I used to get the fettuccine all the time." I say now looking over the menu myself.

"What ever happened between you two? If you don't mind me asking." She says setting her menu down and leaning forward towards me. I stiffen and run my hand through my hair.

"Well uh we had different ideas on things and we were just so sick of bickering over the company so one day he told me to leave and I did." I admit. She nods.

"Maybe you should go and see him." She blurts. My eyes widen. "He doesn't have time for that. He's got a huge business to run." I say shaking my head.

"Come on. I'm sure he'd make some time for his twin." She giggles. I chuckle. "Well let me put it this way. I don't really want him to see me like this." I admit.

"Like what?" She ask furrowing her eyebrows. "A guy that hates his job. I don't want him to know that I miss him that much and the fact that I hate my life." I ramble with a nervous chuckle.

"I'll go with you." She blurts. My heart speeds up and my hands begin to sweat even more than they were. "Really?" I ask raising my eyebrows. "Yeah. It'll be fun." She smiles.

Our conversation is soon interrupted by the waiter coming back to take our food orders and all my mind is stuck on is the fact that this girl just convinced me to patch up my life.
