Summer's POV
"Summer? Stephen? Were home!" My parents yelled walking through the door. I went down the stairs to greet them with Stephen, my eight year old brother, repeating the same gesture.
"Hello!" I said giving them a huge hug.
My parents have been married for 30 years. But they're marriage hasn't been the easiest. My mother is black, and my father is white. Society was very cruel to them accepting their love for each other. But they fought hard and strong, and 30 years later they are still happily married with two kids. True love isn't it?
"How was New York?" I asked filling up a cup with some sprite.
"It was wonderful! There were so many stores! And the city, especially Times Square is just breathtaking," my mom said as she pulled out her phone to show some pictures she took.
"Wow it looks amazing!" I said admiring the pictures.
"Oh, it gets better!" my dad had this weird smile on his face, like he had the best news in the world. I raised an eyebrow anticipating for his news.
"Guess what celebrity we saw?" He said rubbing his hands together.
"Who?"
"Justin Bieber!"
I spit my sprite everywhere. Literally everywhere. Some even hit Stephen. Whoops.
"Haha! I knew she was going to freak out!" my father laughed. "I should've recorded it!"
Shit. I can't even tell them about my weekend well because I met him at party. I would be dead if they found out, even though I spent most of it locked in a bathroom.
"We even got him to sign this picture to you!" my mom pulled out an autographed picture of him signed
To Summer,
Stay true to yourself, and believe.
You best believe I stayed true to myself after that slap. I still can't believe he tried making a move on me. Although, if I didn't have any class I would be straddling his lap within two seconds of his touch.
"Do you like it?" my mother stared at me with the biggest smile on her face.
"I love it so much! Thank you!" I gave them both a quick kiss on the cheek and ran upstairs.
I had to talk to Caity. I tried calling her but this time it went straight to voicemail, so I assumed her phone died. Looks like I was going to have to see her personally. I grabbed a sweatshirt from my drawer and pulled it over my head, threw on a pair of shorts, and wallah! I really didn't care about my hair because well it always looked like shit.
I grabbed my phone and sped down the stairs. I slid my favorite pair of sparkly silver flip flops on my feet and grabbed the keys to my parents car.
"I'm going to Caity's house, Okay bye!" I yelled through the house before leaving. My parents don't mind me driving to Caity's house since it's only five minutes away. If only I could drive everywhere else.
...
I pull up next to Caity's Mercedes, so I know she had to be home. I park, get out the car and walk into her house. Her family doesn't lock the doors, so I always invite myself in. I practically live here. I close the door behind me, kick of my flip flops and run up the stairs to her room. I knock and open the door to find Caity asleep. Too bad. I jump on her trying to wake her up.
