~Under The Starlight~

~A soft chuckle left my pink lips. The winds whispered past me. I laid on the light cloth which was spread on the dark green grass. The trees surrounded me. I was alone. I didn't mind it at all. I enjoy my own time. "Me time"~

I ate dinner as fast as I could and ran out to the garden. It had been raining during the night for almost two weeks and I was waiting for a cloudless night sky to regain the stargazing doses for the days I lost

The sky was pitch black. Jet black. Either way it was dark, very dark. The stars on the other hand, glistened, sparkled. They shone, blinking from time to time, like messy glitter on a childs creative art. The silver shone against the black sky, forcefully grabbing the attention of anyone who would look at the night sky.

I took in a deep breath of the cold air that blew past me. I heard the crickets within the grass. I felt so happy. Nature was a beautiful thing. It had beauty in every little thing, regardless how small or how big it was. It brought me so much happiness. I stared at the sky. The stars kept twinkling silently, managing to catch me in its spell.

My watchful eyes easily spotted the constellation of Orion, the hunter. Slowly, one by one, I started to familiarize the mess of stars above me.

"Pisces.." I whispered as I pointed towards the group of stars near the horizon, there the tops of the silhouetted trees covered almost half of it. The twelfth zodiac, Pisces. My gaze traveled from it to a different corner, where I instantly recognized another zodiac which too, was only halfway visible, as it was on the horizon as well.

"Gemini..." I whispered again, gaining a sense of content. I had memorized the zodiacs and spotting them in the midnight was a game I loved to play. Since the day I learned about them I loved them. They were one big passion I had. Eventually, made me love astronomy as a whole.

More towards my left, shyly peeking through the dark sky I spotted a group of stars in a "V" formation. A smile appeared on my lips as I quickly whispered to myself again,

"Taurus"

I kept watching it, smiling.

"..... my arch enemy."

The legend of the stars placing in the sky started to rewind in my mind. It was a story I had learned long ago. Science apart, I admired the spiritual and magical part of nature, and refused to give into logic and science. It just makes things boring.

The story was that before they were constellations, all the 12 zodiacs were beings of immense power and unique characteristics. When they died, the gods placed them in the sky, forming the stars to create constellations. The Zodiacs.

I am a Scorpio. And according to the legend I knew, the Taurus and Scorpion were arch enemies when they lived. And their rivalry was so intense that once they died, the gods placed the constellations on two opposite sides of the sky, so that they won't see each other and they won't ever be able to fight again. It was an amusing story for me. I have two friends who are Taurus, and they both are such sweethearts I love them so much!

I stared at the Taurus constellation. It was one of the simplest to remember along with Leo and Scorpio. The Scorpion constellation must be visible to the other side of the world now. I chuckled to myself. Something about these legends amused me and made me smile all the time. For instance, Orion, the hunter was said to be hunting Taurus. And that was why Orion was a constellation which was placed to close to Taurus. Orion was still hunting.

I scoffed.

Poor guy, he's stuck in the stars, he'll never hunt Taurus.

I didn't believe that story though. I mean, Scorpio and Taurus were on the opposite sides of the sky so that their rivalry wouldn't continue any longer. Why would Orion, be placed close to Taurus when he was trying to hunt him?

Nah... Can't be..

But then, as much as they are interesting and beautiful, legends can be so weird and complicated at times.

I continued to watch the stars. The moon wasn't out and only the stars took over the sky today. The dark was lit up with the soft light that shone off the stars. So there I laid on the grass, my arms behind my head and a smile on my face as I remained quiet, listening to the winds and watching the sky, under the starlight~
