Scott tapped his finger on the table, impatiently checking his watch for what seemed to be the millionth time in twenty minutes.  Where is he?  Scott wondered, glancing at the door and around the coffee shop. He'd told Jake to meet up at the shop at 3:00. It was currently 3:30 and he wasn't showing up. He glanced at his phone to see if there was a message explaining his absence; however, the phone was just as void of a message as it was 10 minutes ago.  Sighing, he glanced around at the small, quaint café. He noticed another guy glancing around, as though searching for someone as well.

Their gaze met and a bolt of electricity jolted through Scott's body. Man that guy was gorgeous.

His blond hair was parted to the side and he when he smiled, Scott could see dimples. The other guy beckoned him over. Shrugging, Scott wandered over. "What's a gorgeous guy like you doing sitting all alone?" The stranger flirts.  "I was waiting for someone, but it looks like they aren't coming." Scott answers with a blush.  The stranger shot him a sympathetic look  and motioned for him to sit down. "What's your name?" He asked curiously. "Mitch" the stranger answered with a friendly smile.  "Mitch, why is a beautiful person like you all alone ?"  Scott's eyes lit up as Mitch hid his blush by taking a sip of water. "Same story as you." He sighs. Scott frowns and asks "While we're waiting for our dates, why don't we get to know each other?"  Mitch nods and asked the first question "Who's your favorite artist?" "Beyoncé" Scott replied.

Mitch's eyes light up and he almost squeals "I LOVE Beyoncé, she's my queen."  Scott grins "I love her too" He said, flashing a grin at Mitch. They excitedly fangirl over their love for Beyoncé for another fifteen minutes before moving on to another topic. They passed time in this manner, and they were surprised to see that it had almost been two hours.

"Well, it looks like they're not coming."  Mitch sighed, Scott nodding his agreement. "Let's go" He says rising up from the chair and holding a hand out for Mitch. Mitch blushes, but took Scott's hand. Just as they are about to leave, two men rush in. "Scott, I'm so sorry I'm late." One man apologizes. Scott glanced over to Mitch, where it looked like a similar conversation was taking place.

He saw that Mitch's conversation had ended, and that the man had left. He quickly turned back to his conversation and gently lets the man down, saying that his punctuality and inability to let him know that he was late or unable to make it, wasn't really relationship material. Besides, he might have met someone else. He glanced over at Mitch to see him looking at him and smiled. Mitch came over and asked "Everything ok?"  Scott nods and tells him "Yeah, I just had to tell him that his lateness and inability to let me know of his lateness turned me off."  Mitch nodded "Same girl" he says and let's  out a sigh.

The two turn and stare a teach other, lost in the beauty of each other's eyes. "So, do you want to go get coffee tomorrow?" Scott asks, pulling out his phone to give Mitch his number. Mitch smiles and nods. "I'd like that." He said. They exchanged numbers and walked away, both feeling in their hearts that this could be the start of something new (It feels so right, to be here with you. Sorry, High School Musical nerd over here.)

Who knew being stood up could be so good?
