Mitch entered his lab and headed over to the tube where the love of his life stands lifelessly. "We'll be together soon my love. Just a few more hours." He whisperd. It is painful to move himself from Scott's body, but the thought of being reunited with the love he had lost motivated him. He walked to his computer and started it up, observing as traits and genetic coding flashed by on the screen.  Mitch recalled the day that Scott had gone into a comatose state from a car accident, only to never wake up from it. Then,  an article he had read about human cloning inspired him.

After months and months of research and funding issues, Mitch managed to gain all the equipments and space he needed to have. He presses the upload button, only to find out that his Scott was 99.5% perfect. Mitch sighed and went through code after code to find the error. Ah! There it is. While the program's being uploaded he picks up a cd that holds all of Scott's memories that he's ever had. Mitch opened the tube that contained Scott and located the disk compartment and carefully slides the cd in. He walks back to the program and uploads it. He then walks over to a switch on the wall and holds it, breathing deeply. This is it, the moment he's been waiting for. The suspense and anticipation builds as he pulls the switch. He hoped it worked. "Come on, Scotty. You can do it. Come on my love." He whispered encouragingly.  His face falls when he realizes that Scott wasn't moving. His eyes tear up and he lets out the most heartbreaking sob. But wait. Was that a twitch?? Mitch dried the tears from his face and watched closely. It was!!  He observed, with bated breath, hoping and praying that years of hard work weren't just flushed down the toilet. With a gasp Scott's eyes opened, and he looked around in confusion. "Where am I?" He muttered. He locked gazes with Mitch and looked confused, before the new files in his head started working.

"Mitchy?" He questioned, unsure if this was a dream or reality.  Mitch nodded, then rushed into Scott's arms crying and repeating "Scott" over and over as though his name was a prayer that could have saved him from the nightmare he lived in.  Two and a half years worth of frustration, sadness and anger were well worth it when he was wrapped up in the arms of his love. Scott looked down at the sobbing boy and ran his hand through Mitch's hair, offering comfort. Mitch just sobbed harder. "Oh, baby. Why are you crying?" He asked. Mitch sniffled. "I can't believe I have you back." He sobbed louder. Scott shifted uncomfortably and asked "Babe, can we move? This tube's getting cramped." Mitch let out one last sniffle and nodded. Scott took a small, shaky step; Mitch likened it to a baby foal trying to take its first step.  He turns and reaches out for Mitch and picks him up and kisses him hard, until they're both breathless. He walks out the lab with Mitch in his arms. "I love you, my little mad scientist." He said, watching as more tears of joy sprung from Mitch's eyes. "I love you too, my Scott. I never thought I'd say that to you again" He admitted.

"Well, you can tell me that forever. Because I'm never leaving you again." Scott gazed deep into Mitch's eyes, noticing the pain, sadness, happiness and love that were in his eyes. With one last kiss, they drove home to an evening full of cuddles and explanations.
