The two arrived in the front of the eerie forest, the branches contorting into supernatural shapes and casting peculiar shadows.

Jimin convinced himself that it was just his anxiety taking over, but he couldn't help feeling genuinely frightened by the prospect of trudging through the numerous looming trees.

The pink-haired let out a cacophonous sigh, a cogent sense of regret clouding his already perturbed thoughts. After getting off the bike, he subconsciously decided to further agitate his irritable brain by boring his apprehensive gaze into the many birches and maples marking the border of the forest.

He felt as if he were in a horror film just by standing next to it. The boy was unable to bring himself to imagine walking through it, just the view of the terrifying landscape making his heartbeat skyrocket.

"You look like you've eaten stale Chili's. I've been here a million times, nothing's going to happen." Yoongi assured the other boy, attempting to make light of his visibly tense demeanor, earning a glare from the younger.

"Sorry if I don't feel peachy exploring a possibly beast-infested hellhole with someone I've barely known for a week." Park retorted, the tempestuous wind suddenly much harsher on his pale, goose-bump coated flesh.

"Stop being histrionic." The taller deadpanned, glancing over the bubblegum-haired before scowling briefly, realizing that he'd struck a nerve. "There's something almost as nice as your ass on the other side." He tempted, his tone twisting around the syllables, as though he were trying to make his voice sound as silky as possible.

"What is it with you and my ass and should I start shipping it" Jimin inquired, earning a lighthearted laugh from the other boy. The smaller of the two cradled his head in his hands before reluctantly agreeing once more. The boys were just about to enter the forest when the younger grabbed Yoongi's hand. "Sorry." He said sheepishly as the taller looked down at him quizzically, the shadowiness concealing his red cheeks. "I feel safer this way." The shorter justified to which Min nodded, relaxing his muscles.

A minuscule frown made its way onto the caramel-eyed's attractive visage as he took Jimin's hand into his. "You're freezing." He exclaimed, the other's palms ice-cold. Upon closer inspection, he realized that the younger's skin was lightly tinted aqua. "Why didn't you say anything, Jesus." Yoongi fumbled with his sweatshirt, momentarily sliding it off of his body and over the other's head.

"Actually, my name is Jimin." The pink-haired joked, attempting to veer away from the topic. All that got him was a stern look from the older. "I didn't want to be a burden." He muttered, the truth slipping through his pinkish lips, provoked by the coffee eyes seemingly burning a hole through his skin. The intensity that inhabited them only magnified at the younger's timid words.

"Jiminie." Yoongi vocalized, his breezy yet somber tone barely above a whisper. If it weren't for his moving lips, the pink-haired wouldn't have noticed that the boy was saying anything. "You're never a burden. Not to me." He continued, his statement letting the butterflies that inhabited Jimin's stomach out of their cage.

The younger boy finally felt as if he'd found someone who'd genuinely appreciated him, recognized his worth.

The worth that had been hidden under a plethora of layers of insecurity and fatiguing experiences that had driven the slender boy into a pit of self-hatred and mental exhaustion.

At that moment, though, Jimin felt a fraction of the weight lifting off of his shoulders. He could breathe easily, his trip to the woods appearing less scary than he'd made it out to be.

Yoongi pulled the younger into a hug, his hospitality and kindness forming an impenetrable shield around the raspberry-haired. The taller's halcyon presence affected the other boy positively, helping slow the shorter's startled breathing.
