Fetus and the CDC

19 December 2017

The CDC (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention) got a list of words they're not allowed to use for the Congress's national budget report ...and in my humble opinion its complete bullshit.

The CDC is restricted from using...
"Vulnerable"
"Entitlement"
"Diversity"
"Transgender"
"Fetus"
"Evidence-based"
"Science-based"

Can we just take a second to acknowledge now dumb that is?  None of these words are profane or prejudiced. They're just simple words.

I mean, fetus??? The word fetus isn't gonna offend anyone, right? (well I mean, 2017, but still) People offended by the word "fetus" need to get their shit together. What if the report actually discusses fetuses? What is the CDC supposed to substitute it with?  Premature infant? Post mature gastrula?

And "vulnerable." Which dumbass decided vulnerable was a "bad word"? It could potentially be used for a wide range of medical or public health situations, and isn't that the whole purpose of the CDC?

Let's be real for a sec. "Entitlement" and "diversity" are second-grade vocabulary words. If 8 year olds are encouraged to say it, then why are authorized officials banned from saying it?
And I'm genuinely curious. Which smartass thought it was worth the effort and paperwork to ban the CDC from saying a word such as "diversity"? Who has the time for shit like that?

The CDC is literally founded on science and research and evidence. So then why can't they use the phrases "science-based" or "evidence-based"? This has got to be the dumbest of them all. That's like banning a banker from saying the word "money." Or like banning a baker from saying "sugar." What is anyone possibly losing when the CDC expresses their findings as "science-based"? I mean what else are they supposed to base it off of?
Our findings, though rather inconclusive, are imagination-based.
BULL. SHIT.

The only one I can sorta understand is "transgender." I still don't believe that it is fair for the CDC to be banned from using this word, but I can understand the intentions behind the restriction.

This whole thing kinda made me question humanity. Are we really stooping down to these ridiculous and desperate levels?
SOS.
