Well. As we've already established, I suck ass at history.
Beware cuz I'm about to make this pretty damn melodramatic.
Imagine a typical high school scene...
I'm desperately and furiously trying to scribble notes, capturing every word and essence of Westward Expansion (pretending I even know what that is)
Somewhere in the background, the teacher asks an intellectual question, requiring higher level thinking.
And I, the innocent yet clueless student, am chosen as her next victim.
"What was the importance of natural resources during westward expansion?"
My brain scrambles for a response, one that isn't too specific or too broad, because that would indefinitely increase my chances of being wrong, and thus, public humiliation. How could I ever show my face in school again?? It would be official: I would have to change my name and move to a different country.
And so I blurted
"Natural resources were important because with natural resources, you could do practically anything!"
Oh no! Did I say the wrong thing? My head started go spin and my world faded in and out. And when I surfaced back to reality, I heard laughter and clapping.
I sighed in relief. I had done it. I would live to see the sun and the moon one more day..........okay so obviously most of that didn't happen
But yeah, the question was on natural resources and westward expansion, but I genuinely didn't know the answer. So I vaguely answered something about if you have natural resources, you can do anything. But I said is so confidently that I guess it came out okay. ;)
Fake it til ya make it...or until you actually fail all your classes
