"Dada, yum yum peeeeee!" Kyla tells me as I'm sat up on my bed. The cheap air conditioning contaminates the air as I channel surf to try and find something mildly entertaining.
Kyla comes to the side of the bed where I lift her up and sit her on my chest. I run my hand through her messy brown curls that are a tangled and unruly due to my lack of attention I paid to them.
"Noooo Dada!" Kyla slaps my hand with a frown on her face. Her sea blue eyes hooded over with her thick black lashes that she batts. After slapping my hand she covers her head with her little arms to block me from combing my fingers through her tangled.
"We've got to do something about that love bug," I tell my baby who shakes her head in defiance with her brows knitted together.
"Nooo, Dada!" She responds to me picking herself up to jump around on the silk dripping bed. She squeals as I catch her in my arms and tickle her tummy, watching her face turn red as she chokes on her own laughs.
A knock hits against the door, my eyes move quickly over to the sound. There's a small part of me that get anxiety hearing a simple knock on the door, in theory, no one should be trying to attract my attention. Well, no one except the police.
I get up from the bed and check the peephole to see Stevie with an armful of fresh towels in her arms. I'm quick to open the door and greet her, seeing that dimple carve into the side of her cheek smoothly.
"Hey," Stevie greets me as I lean up against the door frame with my arms crossed over my chest. A smile traces itself on my lips as I admire her big brown doe eyes. "I brought you some fresh towels,"
"On a scale from 1 to 10, how bored are you?" I question her as she pushes past me and sets the towels down on an open chair. I close the door after feeling the stroke of heat hot my face, the presence of sweat forming at my hairline.
"I mean I'm bringing you fresh towels so you tell me," Stevie teases me as Kyla screams and starts to jump on the bed again to entertain herself. Her messy curls bounce around her heart-shaped face, I catch her in mid-air and tell her she needs to take a chill pill.
"I thought you were bringing me fresh towels for the whole quality assurance thing but," I crack a smile and feel Stevie nudge me slightly with a little giggle.
"I'm pretty sure you are the most spoiled guest here," Stevie responds as Kyla bends backward and smiles at Stevie who giggles at the wild one in a half-year-old.
"I'm pretty sure I am the only guest here," I tease her back.
"Well hey listen, I wanna show you something tonight," Stevie tells me as Kyla wiggles around in my arms. I let her slide down my torso until she squeals and runs wild around the open motel room.
"As enticed as I am, there are a lack of babysitters in the area so unfortunately, I have to abide by Keke's sleep schedule," I respond as we both look over at the crazy little girl that was screeching while running around with tangled curly hair and clothes that were loose fitting to her body, she looked like a ragamuffin.
"What if I told you that something was just outside your room?" Stevie entices me further moving towards the door to leave. Her hand lingers on the handle but she doesn't make an effort to ever twist it.
"I would tell you that is a little more plausible," I come over to Stevie who hides half her face behind her caramel curled hair that runs past her waist. Her long eyelashes open and close slowly almost giving off a seductive hint in her body language.
"Don't keep me waiting H," Stevie winks twisting the knob of the door, stepping out and leaving as if she had never been there, to begin with. The same butterflies fluttered in my stomach a sensation I hadn't ever felt when I was with someone. It was a mixture of nervousness and utter infatuation.
