Jennifer's POV
After a long, patient 9 weeks have gone by, it came to the time where I get to find out the gender of my baby, even though I'm only 12 weeks along. We're doing this via a blood test, which should determine the gender that way. Chance isn't here unfortunately, because he's in California performing shows with the boys. But, I am definitely going to tell him everything that is going on. My cousin Sydne is coming with me to my appointment because I don't have anyone to go with, so I'm happy that she's with me. When we arrived to my appointment, Syd stayed in the waiting area while I signed in. While we were waiting for my name to be called, we had a little conversation. "So, do you have any ideas on what the gender is?" Sydne asked. "Well, I have a feeling that it's a girl, but I'm kind of hoping for a boy, kind of so that Chance will have one of each. But, I know he'll be happy with whatever we have." I smiled. "How long did they say until you'd get the results?" She asked. "I'm not exactly sure, but I think I get the results after a few hours, or after 3 days." I replied. "That's pretty quick." She replied.
------A few minutes later------
"Jennifer." A nurse called my name. I stood up and walked with her to where I would be doing the blood test. "So, are you hoping to find out the gender early?" She smiled. "Hopefully." I smiled. "Just have a seat in this room and the doctor will be you shortly." She smiled as she went back to her post. I waited for about 5 minutes before my doctor came inside. "Good Morning Ms. Torrance, it's nice to see you here this morning." My doctor smiled. "It's nice to see you too, Dr. Johnson." I replied. "So, are you ready for your blood test?" She asked. "Yes, I'm ready." I smiled. My doctor did her thing and began the process of my blood test. "So Doc, when will I be able to find out the results of my test?" I asked. "Well, you should be able to find out within 3-5 days." She replied. "You'll be receiving a call from me, but it's best not to answer it, because I will be leaving you a voicemail with the results." She said. "Ok that's perfect. Thank you very much." I smiled. "You're very welcome." Dr. Johnson smiled. After my test was done, I went back out to my cousin. "How'd it go?" She asked. "It went well. I should find out my results within 3-5 days." I replied. "That's awesome. Is she going to call you?" Sydne asked. "Yes she will, and she'll leave a voicemail telling me the results." I said. "That's exciting! I can't wait to find out if I'm having a niece or a nephew." Sydne smiled.
------3 days later------
These past 3 days have been crazy and long-awaited. Today is February 27, 2019, and today is the day that I find out the results of my blood test that will determine the gender of my baby. And today is also a really good day, because Chance is visiting and I'm super excited. I haven't seen him since I told him that I was pregnant. And from what I remember, also in the voice message that my doctor will leave me, is the supposed due date of when I'll be having my baby. Today also marks my 3rd month of my pregnancy, which it feels like forever. I'm currently on my way to pick up Chance from the airport. I'm super excited to see him. When I arrived, I was patiently waiting for Chance to come outside. After 10 minutes went by, I saw one of the most important men in my life. I slowly got out of the car and ran towards him. "I missed you so much baby." I teared up as I hugged Chance tightly. "I missed you very, very much my love." He replied as he gave me a kiss on my forehead. He then immediately bent down and kissed my stomach. "How's our baby doing?" He smiled. "So far, it's doing really well. And today, we'll get to find out whether it's a "He" or a "She."" I smiled.
------2 hours later------
Chance and I finally arrived at my place, and I ordered some Chinese food for us because I know he's really hungry at the moment. And just as I was waiting, I heard my phone going off. I looked over, and it was a different number, which I knew right then, that it was my doctor calling. I left it ringing until I heard a "ding" noise to know that she left a voice message. After 2 minutes, I heard that "ding" noise I was waiting for. "Baby, she left the voice message! Let's listen to it!" I told Chance. He walked over to where I was sitting and we sat down together and listened to the voice message together. "Hello Ms. Torrance this is Doctor Johnson, calling you to give you the results from your blood test. So, according to your blood test, everything looks really good, and, for the big news, you are having a..... Boy! Congratulations Ms. Torrance. Have a nice day bye." The message ended. Chance and I immediately looked at each other and smiled with excitement. Chance quickly looked down at my stomach and gave it a big kiss. "Hey baby Boy, it's your Daddy. I can't wait to meet you and hold you." Chance smiled.
"Now we need to figure out a good name for our son." Chance said. "Baby, I already have one." I smiled. "Wait, you do?" He asked. "Yes, I do." I smiled. "What name did you end up choosing?" Chance asked. "Boston Elliott." I smiled. The smile that Chance had on his face, was priceless. "Hey there little baby Boston. Mommy and Daddy love you so much." I smiled as I rubbed my belly.
