When Luk woke up, he was in a dark room and there were muffled voices coming from the other side of the door.

He searched himself for his pager, gun, handcuffs, taser, mace, and nightstick, but he had nothing. Even his flashlight was gone.

"Great," he murmured.

Feeling around the room, Luk found box and some sheets, but nothing else.

"Lexi!" he called, deciding to take the risk of Seth hearing.

There was no reply, so he tried something different. "Seth, you idiot, you better come up here or else I'm gonna keep screaming!" he yelled through the door.

Again, he got no answer. He did a kick-in and the door fell.

There were stairs and what appeared to be a knife on the floor.

Luk walked closer and, to his dismay, it was exactly what he thought it was.

What an idiot, he thought. Then he remembered he had been hit on the head with a gun and both of the guns he carried were missing which meant that Seth had at least three.

He muttered a curse to himself, but, hell, might as well see what Seth was up to.

He stomped down the stairs, trying to make as much noise as humanly possible. It was already a wonder how Seth didn't hear the door fall.

"Oh, Seth," Luk said. "I'm about to walk out the front door."

He turned a corner and found he was in the living room. Seth was standing in the middle of the floor and Lexi was tied to a chair in front of him.

Seth turned to Luk and said, "For a cop, you're pretty stupid."

Luk didn't understand what he meant by that until Seth put a gun up to Lexi's head.

"If you don't put that knife down and sit down, I'll shoot her."

"You won't shoot her," Luk retorted, trying to keep his composure, but felt it slipping.

"How much ya wanna bet?" Seth asked, cocking the hammer.

This is what threw Luk over the edge. He begged, "Please, leave her alone. I'll do anything if you just leave her alone."

Seth smiled and moved to point the gun at Luk. "I'll kill you first and let her watch it and cry, then, when she gets too annoying, I''l shoot her."

"Seth," Lexi said, speaking for the first time. "Leave Luk alone. He didn't do anything."

"That's where you're wrong, L. He dated you. Since Hunter's injured, I have nothing else to work with but-" his voice turned mocking- "Officer Daniels."

"Seth," she pleaded.

'Seth,'" he mocked.

"He's a police officer. You're not going to get away with this," she said.

"You know I'll get away, L. I always win." To Luk, it sounded like Seth had said those words so many times that it was almost comical listening to him.

Something dawned on Lexi, but Luk wasn't sure what it was.

Her eyes started to water, but Seth didn't seem to notice. He moved the gun back over to Lexi. "Give me the knife." He held out his hand.

Luk refused to give it to him, and was about to throw it, when Seth's finger started to slowly move back the trigger. If he threw the life now, Seth would be shocked and his finger would automatically pull the trigger.

Luk had no way out. He placed the knife in Seth's hand.

Seth smiled again, pocketing the knife. He lower the gun, unloading it and putting it in a holster, knowing he had full control.
