They're My.... 'Friend'

Last Time

"Impressive, my majesty. You should learn to use your powers more." Matt said with a smirk on his face. "Hey, can you uhm, keep this a secret?"

I walked upstairs only to hear somebody knocking on the door.

Nick's P.O.V

I opened the door to revealed Chara in a new set of clothing, she was wearing a light blue hoodie with black pants. I had just noticed but her cheeks had natural blushes on them. "H-hey." She stuttered most probably due the cold air at the Ice Kingdom. "Hey, uhm, why are you here?" I asked curiously. "Onie t-told me to check on you." I just raised an eyebrow and gestured her to come in. She came in one of the room which had 4 couches facing in all four direction. "Lance!" I called Lance out. "What?" Lance answered back while coming up from the 'arena'. Lance's eyes widened as he sees Chara besides me. "And who is they?"

"They're my.... friend." I said smirking. "Ain't that right Chara?" I was trying to tease her. "U-uhm, y-yeah, we're.... friends."

"Are you sure? You two uses the word 'friend' very loosely. Wait! Are you two couples?" Lance asked almost shouting. I can see Chara's natural blush become a tad brighter than before. "W-we're not c-couples!" Chara said then crossing her arms and looking away from me. 'There she was flustered again.' "Heh." I just noticed that I was staring at Chara for a bit now. "Anyways, Lance, I called you up here so, that you cast a fire over there for Chara." I said trying to break the awkward silence.

"Ya sure that ya can trust her?" Lance asked suspicious of Chara. Chara narrowed her eyes when Lance asked this. "If I didn't, I wouldn't ask you to come here." I answered his question hopping to clear out his suspicion. "You trust people too easily." "That's because I'm trying too think possitive thing." I mumbled to myself. I know that Chara heard this but she didn't react to it. Lance sighed than snapped his finger casting a fire. Surprisingly, the ice floor of my home didn't melt.

The warmth of the fire hits my face, it was..... rare... for me to have a fire's heat on my face. I've got to say, it was a memorable feeling. Lance just went to his room, to... give us some privacy. "So, your brother has fire abilities, huh?" "Yeah. Your still interrogating me, huh?" I'm still trying to tease her. "I just want to know, ok?" I sat on one of the couches near the fireplace. she sat on the couch infront of me. "Welp, that's the second time someone said we're good as a couple. I wonder why they said that. Heh." I said trying to start a conversation. "I disagree with them." Chara said.

"Huh?" I asked.

"I like you, as a friend, of course." Chara stated.

"Well, of course! We just met." I answered then something came to me. "Wait a minute, why did Onie sent you? I know Onie and he would come here to check me himself." Chara eyes widened as I stated this. "W-wait, don't get into any conclusions."

"Maybe Lance was right.... I do trust people too easily..." I said while closing my eyes.

"Hey, hey! I said don't get into any conclusion!" Chara said angrily. "Fine, I did lied about Onie sending me! But I didn't lied about I came here to checked you."

"Yeah, I'm sure that's true" I said sarcastically, my 'happy' expression faded, it was now a serious expression. "Really? YOU, the girl who wants me dead when she first saw me, came here to check about me? You lied to me once, which you may lie to me again and again, again." I was now gritting my teeth.

"How about YOU? You lied to me AND Onie!" Chara was now pissed off but I didn't noticed it.

"I lied for a good reason, what's your reason for lying to me?" I asked, I was now clutching my hand into a fist. The atmosphere around was turning black, everything stop, the fire stop moving, the heat was no longer sensible, the cold breeze from the wind was stop, the birds outside stop flying and was hovering on the sky. Everything was frozen. I know what it was but I didn't used it intentionally.

"I didn't want you to be more depressed than you already are!" Chara shouted, making me look at her. Her eyes was all watery. She was gripping the couch sheets firmly.

"W-what?" I was surprised that she knew that I had depression.

"I know that you had depression ever since the first time I was mean to you. The way you talk, the way you refer to people your just the same as..." Her tears started to roll down her cheek and onto the floor.

"Hey, hey. I have depression but you don't need to worry about me." I stand up from the couch and went to her. "I can hold it, whatever happened to your friend won't happened to me."

"That's what they say but eventually..." She gripped the sheets much more tighter than before. 'I don't know either she knows this, but she's also showing signs of depression. Actually, I think hers are worst than mine. I was about to hug her but I stopped and thought what I was doing. Before I can decide what to do, she hugged me. I hesitantly hugged her back. I can sense my soul cracked a little bit but I ignored it. A drop of tear came from my eye. We then stopped and released the hug. The atmosphere then went back normal after we released the hug.

"Heh, I never thought that I'll actually be happy for caring for people." I said with a smile. "And?" Chara asked with a smile on her face. "And for people caring about me." I said with a smile. "Well, if you need someone to talk to, I'm here." She said. "Same goes for you." I answered. She just raised an eyebrow. 'Yup, she doesn't know that she has depression, she must have it for such a long time for her to grow used to it.' We talked for awhile before Chara went back the hut.

I was so tired that I have forgotten to ask Nina about either she had any secret power awaken from her. I just went to my room and slept on my bed. 'Wow, today was surely an interesting one.' I just let myself drift into my 'dreamland'. Dreamland? Hah! More like hell. Ever since the day I've seen that dark figure. I've been having the worst nightmare I have ever had. I closed my eyes, preparing myself for my nightmare.
