Get To The Breach

Part 9

All you could see on his face was the pure disappointment. Something was telling me that I didn't want to know what he was going to say. Stacker walked away in the direction of his office. Raleigh ran after him into the distance and I just decided to go sit up on Glory while I waited.

The sight on the shoulders was unbelievable. Seeing the shatter dome every day was one thing you were so grateful for to have every day.

I walked into the lunch room to grab something to eat quickly before I was to do something else.
I was about to take a bite out if my mashed potatoes when I heard my name.
"Hey Jenna" I heard from across the room.
I looked up to see Stacker and Raleigh standing side by side each other at the opening doors to the lunch room. Everyone's heads turned to either Myself of the two men at the door.
I stood up and walked to the middle of the room.
"Yes?" I said putting my tray on the side.
"Let's go, we got to talk," Rals said.
I walked over to them and we all walked to a random hallway to get away from other peers.
"Raleigh can you give us a second please" Stacker said motioning for him to walk a little bit away from us.
"Miss.Pickles, when the match ended I'm sure that you both feel that you felt a drift between you two. I'm pretty sure the whole room felt it. But there is something we need to tell you, come to my office before you head to bed. It's very urgent" he said leaving me to go talk to Raleigh.

The whole day I was stuck thinking about what Pentecost was going to say to me. It could honestly be anything.

Rals and I soon walked back to our rooms and I decided to just think for a while. I soon found my self-drifting off to sleep.

The loud beeping from the shatter dome woke me up to look over at my side table to see it was 3:00 am. I threw my legs over the side of the bed and my 11-year-old self never thought my mornings would ever start this early. I saw Ethan dressed and just grabbing anything else he needed.
"I'll be back, categorise 3," he said opening the door and facing me.
He soon quickly walked over to me and I stood to meet him in a hug and he gave me a quick hug back. He soon left the room and I'm guessing he went to go to Hulkman (his Jaeger). I pulled a t-shirt and some blue army pants. Pulled my black army boots and the laces were just left loosely tied. I went and opened the door and locked it behind me.
"Is he in?" I asked Tendo.
"All good Jenn, he is in the bay at the moment," he said back.
I was always fascinated by the technology in this building.
Soon I heard a loud screech come from the monitor speaker. We all then knew he had come in contact with the  Kaiju.
More and more times, back and forth each trying to beat one another.
"Kaiju is down, coming back" you heard from the walkie-talkie that was connected to Ethan.
"Ethan there is still a sensor," Stacker said into it.
All of a sudden you only heard the roar of the Kaiju. Then a scream that faded.
All I could feel was at that moment was something had just left me. A part of me had to be just misplaced.
"Both sensors are gone. Must have gone back to the Breach" Tendo said turning off his monitor.
I could feel all eyes on me and the tears starting to reach the ends of my eyelids.

I found myself to make up to Raleigh gently shaking me awake. He must have saw my tears and pulled me into a hug. He was rubbing my back and we sat there just comforting each other in this moment of sadness.
