Get To The Breach

Part 12

Again more and more thought were going through my head, this type of job always leaves you thinking about what's coming for you and then you got to be back on your feet, or it's going to hit you right in the face. 

"Isn't that illegal?" I asked him.

He looked surprised that I asked that type of question. I'm usually the person that gets in trouble and wants to have fun and gets yelled at for it. I remember the time when Kienna were still in school, She and I were in class and the teacher was giving a lecture and we both were trying not to laugh because someone had been making funny noises that I'm surprised that the teacher couldn't hear, and me and her got sent to detention for laughing in class, because we weren't paying attention. 

Pentecost brought me back to reality,

"Jenna, we need more piolets, the PPDC is going down, the government is now becoming more and more against it. It would take years to make a new Jaeger from the spot we are at. Glory is the only one left that is still able to run, but there is one downfall" he said while giving me papers about the governor's statement.  

"What is it," I said while still looking over the paperwork.

"If the word gets out to people, it may lead to you and possibly myself getting prison time, or maybe even worse".

I looked up at him in shock, this meant I wasn't able to tell anyone. How are people not able to know who is piloting a Jaeger, that part is almost impossible to keep a secret. 

"People won't be able to know who will be piloting, and I'll take my name off the board if I need to," he said like reading my mind. 

This was turning into a huge deal, and soon possibly a shit load of problems we are going to need to deal with in the near future.  Stacker walked over to his door of his office and the gesture was for me to get up. I removed myself from my seat and made my way over to the open door. I walked out onto the ground floor and turned back to see him.

"You will go drift practice tonight, probably around 3 am when most people are asleep," he said shortly and closed his door. 

wow, this is actually happening, he is actually serious. 

I walked back to my room, opened my door and sat on my bed. I really had no words for the situation I was in. Some of it made sense, but again it was confusing. I heard something vibrating, I looked over at my side table and saw someone calling me.
