Chapter Eleven

She tries to talk, but her voice is too dry so nothing comes out. "I'll get you some water. Addison." He calls. Her head pops up and she looks at Nicole. She looks back at Andrew confused and then in a second to Nicole.

"You're awake." She says rushing over to her. Nicole looks at the woman confused.

"Can she have water?" Andrew asks holding up a glass.

"Yes, yes, of course." She says nodding her head. Andrew hands the glass to Nicole and she brings it to her lips drinking all of it.

"Where ahr Maddie and Maggie?" She asks looking around the room.

"They are with the other pack children. They are safe, Max has been with them." Andrew says and she nods her head feeling relieved. "What am I doin' here?" She asks looking around. She sees the machines and then looks at them all hooked up to her in some way. What happened to her?

"You don't remember what happened?" Addison asks and she shakes her head.

"Wait.... Ah lef' my howse and you followed me." She glares at Andrew before continuing. "I was nuhaked in front awf ya. " She says with a horrified look on her face. Addison laughs at her face as she looks away from Andrew to her. "Then we fought 'em, I thihnk. Thay took Andrew sumwhere an brought me ta this dark puhlace. It was dreadfully cold an wet. I...I don't know where it was, but thay put me ina cell. Someone beat me uhp and theyn chained me ta thuh cold floor, after that it's a blur." She explains and Addison nods her head.

"That's good, you remembered a lot about what happened." She says and Nicole looks at her waiting for an explanation of what else had happened. "Oh..right. The people that kidnapped you were your rival pack. Blachhunter's as you figured. They pumped silver through your body, but Andrew was able to get through to you and you told us where you were. We then came and rescued you. You've been out for about three weeks, this is your second time waking up. The first you...were..um puking up blood." She says and Nicole's eyes are wide.

"Ya must be amazin'. I can't believe I'm still here. That's why I feel like sh*t then, thuh stupid silver." She says and Addison nods.

"Do you have a headache? Where is your pain?" She asks and Nicole thinks about it for a little.

"Slight headache, thuh pain is kinda like achin' pain, but everywhere." She says and Addison nods her head.

"That's not a surprise, you just had surgery. That's why the headache is there, but we've been trying to flush the silver out. You shouldn't be in much pain. On a scale of one to ten, ten being excruciating."

"Like a fowar, it's like 'avin' sour muscules. Like after a 'ard workout." She says and Addison nods her head once again.

"You want to see if you can walk?" She asks, knowing that getting her moving will help even though it's so soon. Nicole nods her head eager to get out of wherever she is. She sits up feeling slight pain but ignores it. She slides her feet off of the bed and then slowly slides until she touches the floor. Andrew's at her right side and her head feels fuzzy having him that close to her. She shakes her head looking at the ground. She puts all her weight on her feet and feels herself wobble. Andrew holds her arm causing her head to get fuzzier.

"Um...can you let go of me?" She asks keeping her gaze on the floor. Andrew nods his head and let's go. Her head clears a little and she takes a step forward. She takes about five before it's more smooth, not like a baby trying to walk.

"That's good. Can you sit back down for me though? I don't want you to overdo it." Addison says. She nods her head and gets back into the bed.

"Sorry, who are you?" She asks.
