**AN: Think of this like the general map or index for the world of Terras! Please refer back to it whenever you have questions!
There are currently five major nations of Terras that are standing strong in the world:
The Empire of Markotia: A powerful militaristic democracy smack in the middle of Central Terras, with a ruling Emperor and a Senate that share power. Mostly made up of a Human population.
The Kingdom of Valalfheim: Lies to the west of Central Terras between the western ocean, the mountain range that separates it from Markotia, the vast plains that separate it from Numinas in the south, and the Scarred Lands in the north. It is the shining beacon of beauty, elegance, and the last remnants of what remains of the ancient Elven Imperium of old. Mostly made up of an Elven population.
The Protectorate of Numinas: Lies in the southern region, and is a land of art, magic, technology, and industry. The science and sorcery of this nation combine to create magitech marvels of the future. Mostly made up of a Small-Folk population.
The Red Sun Consortium: A mysterious and secretive nation of islands off the eastern coast of Central Terras. Said to be ruled by Dragons. Home to many Beast-Folk.
The Ulfra Nation: A united coalition of Human-ruled tribes that have subjugated all other Folk in the northern lands of Central Terras. Varied population.
*There are also rumors of a sixth nation hidden somewhere in the sea that is ruled by vampires and their legion of undead. This "nation" is called the Necris Dominion, but is mostly used by midwives to scare children.
Races of Terras:
Chin: Beast-Folk. They are normal Human height and weight, but with angular serpentine features, such as flat noses and snake-like eyes. They have forked tongues and prolong their "s" sounds. Sometimes they become more feral and resemble giant snakes.
Damphyr: While their overall appearance remains the same as their biological parents, Damphyrs also inherit traits from the Vampire that bit their pregnant mother. Pale skin, like the skin of the undead that sired them, is the tell-tale sign of their bloody heritage. Many, not all, have small, pointed incisors on the tops of their mouths, and, when the bloodline is particularly strong in an individual, they may have red irises. They need to feed on blood from time to time to satiate their natural-borne bloodlust, but must also eat normal food to survive.
Dark Elf: Dark purple to blue-grey skin, white or black hair, and red eyes. Large pointed ears that are angled backwards. Physically, as with most Elves, Dark Elves tend to be more lithe and toned, but not overly muscular.
Dwarf: Small-Folk. Short, stocky individuals with a tendency to grow beards (though it is not uncommon for some dwarves to remain shaven if they have assimilated into other societies). Typically have red, black, brown, and auburn colored hair. Some Dwarves have heavy set features about the face; mainly their foreheads and nose are larger than compared to Humans.
Geminite: These individuals vary as much as the stones they harvest, because the mana flowing through Terras in high concentrations permeate through the gems to radiate into this race. Consequently, their hair, eyes, and even their skin tends to be all colors of the rainbow. They also may have some gems growing from their skin.
Gnome: Small-Folk, Half-Dwarf and Half-Halfling. Gnomes have the lean, agile bodies of their Halfling side, and the prominent, squarish features of the Dwarves. Unfortunately, this leads to a rather disproportionate appearance for the race as a whole. Rarely do they ever stand above five-and-a-half feet, but can get almost down to two.
