Riverdale One Shots

The Start

This takes place before 1x06, so there is hasn't been a bughead kiss yet. Also, PLEASE comment and it would really help <3

Betty's POV: "Hi Jug!" I say as I take a seat next to him in the classic red booth. 

"Hey Betty" he smiles. "I have quite the news for you."

I raise an eyebrow in wonder.

"Mayor McCoy asked me if I would want to write an article for the Daily Dale about the whole Jason thing!" he responds.

My heart stops, "You mean Daily Dale, the biggest newspaper in town.."

He nods his head with a grin. "Andd, she really emphasised on making sure 'Miss Cooper' is apart of it."

"What! Jug! This is amazing!" I throw my arms onto him into a tight embrace, and lay a kiss on his cheek.

His cheeks turn pink.

"This is gonna be great" I say.

Later that day at the Cooper House.

Jughead's POV: Betty and I begin our article as we sit on her bed. Her eyes locked on the screen, and mine on her. 

"What?" she says, catching me stare.

"Nothing." I respond nervously.

She giggles, "Okay."

"You're beautiful..." I blurt out. Damn it.

 Her eyes open in astonishment.  

"... at writing." I add, nodding towards the screen.

She bright blue-green eyes are still looking at me as I can feel my face heat up.

"Juggie.."

"We should uh, continue our um thing." 

"Jug."

I look up and our eyes meet. Suddenly, she brings her soft lips against mine. She pulls away, I assume to see my reaction. I place a hand on her cheek and pull her lips back onto mine.

Betty's POV: Everything about this felt so different, a good different. Here I was, kissing my one of my best friends and it felt perfect. But I didn't want it to ruin our friendship. As much as I didn't want to, I lightly push his chest away.

"Jug. I-" I have no idea how to put this in a way that doesn't sound offensive.

"I know. You don't want to ruin our friendship." he speaks my thoughts aloud.

"I get it. You, Arch and Veronica are my only good friends and I wouldn't want to ruin that. But I also like you. A lot. I have for a while now. So it's your choice, is this okay?"

My heart races. After that moment I felt different about Jug. Still, he was my best friend, but now I felt a little something more. 

"I, for one, believe that we will always be best friends, Jughead." I say truthfully. "So I'm okay with this. Actually, more than okay."

I scoot closer to him on my knees and kiss him slowly. And he kisses back.

Jughead's POV: Betty Cooper. My childhood best friend. Now the girl who I had developed feelings for, and, from what is seems, has feeling back. 

"I, for one, believe that we will always be best friends, Jug. So I'm okay with this. Actually, more than okay." she replies.

She comes closer to me and we kiss again. This felt right. Our kiss becomes my passionate by the second. Betty swings her legs forward to sit more comfortably, but kicks down my laptop by doing so. 

Both our eyes open and with her bottom lip still between my teeth and her hands still on my face, we look at the fallen laptop. We start to laugh. 

"Maybe we should get back to that article" the blonde says, leaning over to pick up the laptop.

"Really? That's what you're thinking about in the middle of our moment?" I say

(A/N: yes, I wanted to incorporate some things from the actual show so I used the line :) )

She turns back to me with a smile and says "To be continued, Jones." with another small kiss.
