Bettys POV:

"Hey neighbour." the bright face of my best friend says at my door. "Walk with me to school?"

I nod before going inside to grab my bag, "I'm going to school!" I yell out to whoever it may concern.

~~

As we walk to school Archie seems distraught. Just as I'm about to say something he says

"Betty, I really need to tell you something. You can't tell Jughead I told you though."

I simply nod.

"Jughead.. he.. he's homeless. I found him at the school yesterday morning - like early morning. I was coming in to meet with coach at like 6 am - and he was taking a shower and brushing his teeth there. When I kept pushing him to tell me what was going on, he finally gave in. He lives in a closet at the school, Betty." Archie says, worry written all over his face, and mine as well.

"Arch, what do we do? How did this happen?" I say as my thought jumble in my head. Jughead Jones, our childhood best friend, is homeless.

"I tried to offer him staying at my house but he felt like he would be unwanted after the whole thing with our dads."

That's when the idea came to my head.

"I'll handle it. Thank you for telling me." I say as we reach the school. I give Archie a hug before running inside to find who I was looking for.

"There's my girl! Hey B!" I hear as Veronica waves at me.

"Your just who I needed, I need your help. Come with me." I whisper.

I take her to my locker and warn her, "keep your reaction quiet and don't make a big deal. You cannot tell anybody, okay?"

"My lips are sealed." she says making a zipper motion on her lips.

"It's Jug. Archie told me this morning that he doesn't have a home.." I say at the brim of tears.

Veronica is speechless. "Wha- how di-."

"I need your help to sneak him into my house. I need a way that won't make it suspicious to Jughead and my parents can't know. Help me out?"

"Always, B." Ronnie replies.

We start to walk towards our chemistry class when we see the man himself.

"Jug!" I yell, calling him to us. A smile appears on his face.

"Hi Betts!" he hugs me. "Hey Ronnie." he smiles.

"In a good mood, now are we?" Veronica says, as Jughead never calls her Ronnie.

"Very good! I just gathered up enough money to visit my mom and Jellybean in a few months, if they want me to!" he exclaims.

He was so happy just by the possibility of seeing his family. I didn't want to ruin his happy mood by doing anything about the whole situation, so I decided to leave it for later.

"Okay, I'll see you guys later, maybe Pop's after school?" he says as he walks away as we nod.

"Okay, I've got it." Ronnie says.

"You were planning it that whole time? Damn, V" I reply.

She shrugs, "Expect nothing less from yours truly! Okay so, we go to Pop's after school. You bring up something about your guys' school paper thingy and ask if he can come over, I assume he will say yes. As for your parents, they work so getting him into your house will be no problem. Having him stay, however, will be tricky. Make Jughead a sleeping area somewhere that isn't directly in front of your room door, preferably a corner. Then, we hope for the best!" she finishes, bringing her hands together clearly satisfied with her plan.
