"Betty Cooper, Veronica Lodge or Cheryl Blossom" Sweet Pea says as we walk through the forest by Sweetwater.

"Well, Veronica seems like she has major daddy issues, Betty's a prissy, so I say Cheryl." Fangs responds.

My blood boils at what he calls Betty, but they couldn't know that.

"Agree with the Veronica part, but I'd have to go with Cooper." I respond.

"Ah yes, of course, you and your addiction to stealing innocence." Sweet Pea says.

"It's more fun." I shrug, "Plus, shes sexy too, behind those collars and ponytails."

In reality, I've had my eyes on Betty Cooper for years. She was beautiful, enchanting really.

"Gotchya," he says back, "Well Fangs and I gotta run, Toni's waiting for us."

"Yeah, see ya." I say as they turn around and walk in the opposite direction.

I enjoy the peace and quiet of being alone, the rustle of the leaves and the soft crash of the river, the smell of the approaching rain, the gloomy atmosphere surrounding me. I breathe it all in, walking slowly down the path. I hear the thunder clap, and feel a single drop on my nose. I don't mind the rain, and the trees gave a pretty good protection against light drizzle, so I decide to keep going.

I take my afternoon jog as I always do, down here by Sweetwater River. It's getting chilly as the clouds start to come in, I think it's about to rain. I take a second to think which way would closer to an exit out of the forest, to turn around or to keep going down the path. I decide I have been running for about 20 minutes, so I might as well finish the trail, it should only be about 20 minutes more, I'm sure the rain won't come down too hard straight away.

I feel a drop on the top of my head. I stop and look up, 5 more drops fall onto my face. I continue to run, going faster in hopes of reaching the end of the trail quicker, at least then I can stay under one of the gazebos until the rain stops. Maybe wearing shorts and a tank top wasn't the smartest idea.

All of the sudden, I hear the thunder clap loudly, alarming me even through the blasting music in my headphones, a sharp light from lightning emitting only 5 seconds later. Shit. The drizzle becomes harsher, harsher, until I'm now standing in a thunderstorm, drenched within seconds. Well, fuck. I keep running, careful not to slip on the dirt that was now mud. I can't see much, the clouds eliminating the little light that was left, as it was now close to sundown.

I stop and rest by a tree, pulling out my phone and trying the text my mom, but the rain keeps hitting my screen and I have nothing to dry it with. I look to the top left and see that I had no service anyways, I was deep in the forest and the signal wires were probably weak from the storm. My best option was to keep running till I reached shelter. I shiver as I run, the cold water hitting me. I close my eyes to wipe my face as I run, but I bump into something.

I stop.

"Hey, Cooper."
