"Lora! Rose! We're back!" I hear my brother, Lestat, call into his home. "Daddy! Aunty Blair! Welcome back!" Rose yells, running down the stairs towards us. She's so beautiful, I think to myself. And she's my niece? "Thank you, darling. Where is your mother?" Lestat asks her. "Mommy's in the living room." Rose says, hugging her father, then hugging me. My arms slowly wrap around her, hugging her back. I cannot believe she's my niece. "Daddy? Can I show Aunty Blair around? Please?" Rose asks him, her eyes pleading with her father. "Of course, Rose. Blair? Is that okay with you?" Lestat asks me, looking at me. I nod my head, still stunned at how natural it felt to feed on an animal. Rose grabs my hand and leads me to the stairs. I hear Lestat walk into what I believe is the living room. "Aunty Blair? This is your room. Next door, on the left, is my room and on the right is mommy and daddy's room." Rose says, leading me into a dark room. It's actually painted my favorite colors; black with red dripping down. It's like Lestat knew I was coming. "Wow. It's beautiful." I say, looking around the room. "Daddy says it was your room when you were little. Before, you know, you were turned into a human." Rose says, smiling at me. "It does look familiar to me, but it's a little fuzzy." I tell her, still looking around the room. "Come on, Aunty. I want to show you my room! Daddy says it was your playroom when you were little." Rose tells me, grabbing my hand again and leading me to her room. This room is exactly like mine, but the walls were painted red with black dripping down instead. Something flashes through my mind: Me as a little girl playing in this room. A woman comes in and tells me it's time for bed. I run to her and she picks me up and carries me to my room. I realize that's my mother. My real mother. She tucks me in and a man and little boy comes in and they all sit on either side of me. The man is my father and the little boy is Lestat! The images fade and I'm back in Rose's room with her. She's looking at me, scared. "Are you okay, Aunty?" She asks me, walking over to me. "Yeah, I'm okay. Just....just a memory." I tell her, smiling slightly. "Okay. I want to show you my favorite room of all." Rose says, leading me out of her room. She leads me to a room with instruments. I see a black guitar decorated with skulls and bats. "My guitar!" I say, walking over to it. "That's your guitar, Aunty? Daddy brought it home one day and he never told me where he got it. Now I know where." Rose tells me, walking over to me. "Will you play for me, Aunty? Just once?" She asks me. "Of course, Rose." I tell her, strumming the strings. I begin to play a melody I remember from when I was little. "That was beautiful, Blair." I hear Lestat say. I stop and look up at the doorway. "Lestat! How long have you been standing there?" I ask him, startled. "Long enough to have heard Rose ask you to play." He says, coming into the room. "Rose? Your mother needs you downstairs for a moment." He tells her, still looking at me. "Okay, Daddy." Rose says, slowly walking out of the room. "Why did you take my guitar, Lestat?" I ask him, setting it down. He looks away and says, "I took it to remind me of you in case I could never find you again." I stare at him, then I launch myself into his arms and hug him. "Blair." He says, hugging me back. I start to cry. "Ssh. It's okay, my sister." Lestat tells me, comforting me.
