It was late, by the time we returned to the bus. I said goodnight to the guys and went to the back room to start on a new song while I waited to see if Levi would show up. I waited a few hours, before I heard someone outside the door. I sighed nervously and closed my song book as Levi stepped in. He smiled as he softly closed the door and sat beside me on the couch.
After a few moments of silence, he gently grabbed my hand, wrapping it in his. "Harley please tell me what's wrong, I never want to see you hurting" he pleaded.
"I don't know if I can" I said shyly.
"What do you mean? Harley Barley you know you can tell me anything, we have been friends ever since we met on the playground when we were little"
"I know I know..." I took a deep breath "Can I trust you to not tell anyone, including Kenney?"
"Of course Harley you know that"
"Do you promise not to be mad, no matter what I say?"
"Harley, I swear to never tell a soul, unless you tell me its ok" he said kissing the back of my hand.
I took a deep breath, before blurting out, "Levi, I'm pregnant!"
"What?!" he said dropping my hand.
"I'm so sorry" I said barley audible through my sobs as the tears quickly fell.
"Harley come here" he said wrapping me in his arms delicately. "Don't apologize."
"But it's all my fault"
He pulled back slightly, looking into my eyes "Hailey this is not your fault, it is mine. I'm the one that you should be blaming." And then he did something I did not see coming. He slowly leaned in and kissed me gently. I was startled at first, and my mind was having a hard time deciding whether or not to kiss him back. And then I did something I never thought I would do, I kissed him back. It seemed to surprise him, but soon, too soon he pulled away. He pressed his forehead to mine and we starred into eachother's eyes in a comfortable silence.
"Sleep in my bunk tonight" he murmured into my ear.
I looked at him skeptically, "I don't know"
"Oh my honor, I promise to not try anything"
I thought silently to myself as I looked into his eyes as they begged me to say yes, "fine" I sighed as a huge smile erupted onto his face. He jumped off the couch and waited me to jump on his back to be carried to the bunks.
It was a tight squeeze in the bunk, but it was comforting to be curled up in Levi's arms. I softly rested my head on his chest as I felt his arms tighten around me. I felt safe, but at the same time I felt like something in my heart was missing. I fell asleep to Levi soft snores, and my own racing thougts.
In the morning I was awoken by Jason screaming, "PLOT TWIST!"
I yawned and stretched slightly, trying to wake myself up.
"Kenney! What happened to Henney!" he yelled as he ran around the bus.
"What are you talking about?" Kenney asked as he walked in from the kitchen. He stopped in his tracks when he saw Levi and I, "Don't tell me that unspeakable thing happened again?"
"It didn't!" I said, while carefully maneuvering out of the bunk and landing clumsily on the floor. Kenney caught me before I could fall and soon everyone burst out laughing from the awkwardness of the situation.
"So what were you two doing?" Jason asked sounding like a little kid.
"Nothing, we were just talking last night and Harley didn't want to be alone." Levi said rolling over in the bunk so his arm hung off the edge.
"Why didn't you wake me?" Kenney asked.
"I didn't want to wake you and Levi was up, and you just looked so cute cuddled up with your teddy bear" I lied, pinching his cheeks when I mentioned his favorite teddy bear I got him for his birthday when we were five.
"Can we talk later?" Kenney asked pulling me into a hug.
"Of course we can" I said smiling and kissing his cheek.
"There's something I want to show you before the show" he replied.
"Fine just give me few to get ready"
"Save water, shower with a buddy!" Levi called from his bunk.
"Naw, I'm good!" I called closing the door and locking it.
When I finished my shower, Kenney offered me his arm like a gentleman and led me out of the bus. We walked for a few minutes, just joking about random things and arguing over who would live the longest in a zombie apocalypse. We stopped when we reached a small cliff that in the distance you could see the feint morning lights of Las Vegas. We both sat down, and he pulled me close to him as we watched the sun slowly rise. How he knew about this place, I will never know, but this moment was absolutely perfect. The piece that I felt missing before, seemed to be filled.
