===THIRD POV===
The two stare at each other.
The darker of the two was thinking. The human reacted the same as most humans they chitter to, but they seem to be thinking. Is this how they learn? Is thinking the answer that they use when they are unsure of what to say? The creature patiently watches the human, who was staring blankly ahead.
The creature realized that their head-fur is very...poofy. Did they not groom it this morning? Or is it always like this? The ones the creature saw the head-furs were neatly groomed, and put back by something called “bands”...hers was not. Interesting.
Kasey, however, was pondering why she was able to understand what they had just hissed at her. She also thought about how he would be able to exist. She simply drew this one, and somehow, it actually exists. Maybe coincidence….or denial. She doesn’t know how to speak to them...whatever it is, she would have to say something.
More silence, then, “Um...hi….I’m do-do-doing fine.” She said, then stuttered as she added, “I’m K-Kasey, thanks for a-a-a-a-asking.” She paused and hoped her stutter wasn’t a problem.
Stutters were very common for her, unless she is yelling. But she doesn’t know how they react to it.
The creature blinked, and tilted their head, making a low, warbling sound. That one Kasey couldn’t understand, until it added in a chitter at the end, that mentioned, “odd one.”
Whether it was talking about her, or something else, she doesn’t know whether to take it as an offensive comment. She decided not to, anyway.
Gulping, she asked them, with a slight stutter, “S-So wh-what is y-your name? How ar-are you feeling?”
The creature seemed to ponder, their tail she noticed, now wagging slightly. They perk up and scratched at the ground, bringing their claws up and down in circles…and it made no sense.
It was just a few scratches in the dirt. But they chitter happily, saying something like “See is also Ehch with numbers.”
Kasey tilted her head, somehow understanding that they meant the letter “C” and Ehch was supposed to mean the letter “H”. But she doesn’t understand the “with numbers” part.
Part of her wanted to go away, forget about this, and go back to reading or typing or playing on her tablet. The creature will be gone from her mind...but she is curious about something.
“Your name…” She started, confident, “...is it Chaos?”
The creature blinked, and tilted their head, giving a confused chirp. “I don’t understand.”
Then everything came crashing down on her. But, for the sake of it, she face palmed at her own stupidity.
Sighing, she looked up at the Creature, who decided to stand up after that abrupt smack to her face. They seem to sniff at her, seeing if she was alright, sick, or if there is anything they need to bite.
Standing her ground, she said, “Alright...you don’t have a name.”
The creature hissed to go against it, but she intervened, “A name that I can call you, at least. This may be the weirdest thing in your life, but it will make me recognizing you easier…”
She looked in it’s white eyes, “Your name is now Chaos, friend.”
=============
“Your name is now Chaos, friend.”
Chaos felt odd about that.
Do humans name each other, or is this something else?
Chaos pondered this new information, now wondering what that word meant. Friend. They never hear it often. The one back...at their home, they shivered as they thought, had told them that humans keep relationships called friendships. Its when the human is a part of their lives, and they like each other.
This little human with poofy hair claimed them to be a friend. But isn’t that only a human thing? Or was this a special occasion?
Chaos huffed and straightened their posture.
Alright, the little human has them as a friend. They saved each other (which would make sense with the friendship), and now they has to prove their worth as a friend.
Chaos chittered to the small human, determined, “I call you something.”
The little human was confused by that. They had forgotten their name, it was too...easy for themm. They wanted to name something that described the human, not by the name they were given.
The human tilted her head, her poofy head-fur bouncing when doing so. “Wha...what do you mean?”
They seem cautious of their words, which Chaos finds interesting. They also lose track of their speaking, and it confuses them when she starts repeating the same thing, over and over.
Chaos shook their head, and repeated, “You gave me name. Chaos. I give you name now. Friends. Names give to friends.”
The human looked even more confused than before, but eventually they nodded, “So, what will yo-yo-you name me?”
Chaos thought and circled around the human. She trusted them enough to keep their back to him, which was a good sign since friends have to trust one another.
Well, they would name her something with their poofy head-fur, but that would defeat the purpose of the name.
Maybe their dirt skin tone, but that would also defeat the purpose. As the name is supposed to be a description of personality, not how they look, unless they don’t know the personality well.
Hissing, they sniff the air. Oddly enough, this human smelled strange. Instead of the dull, headache causing smells they have, this human had a calm, pleasant smell to them. Similar to the ones he would find near some buildings, with a hot spot to heat up something.
They ended up just sitting down right behind her to sniff her hair.
The human looked up at them, “Um...what are you doing?”
Chaos chittered, “Smell…” And continued.
The human says something else, “I think you smell the baked goods. We had made some pancakes, as well as cinnamon rolls, and I was near the kitchen when doing so. Do you actually smell that?”
Chaos pondered these new words, breathing in the kind scents. Pancakes? Baked? Cinnamon rolls? If those are the sweet smells they are sniffing, they would love to have some for their fur. But what is a kitchen?
Realizing they were distracted, they got back up and hissed to the human silently, “Explain.”
The human asked, “Explain what?”
“You like water? You like sun? What do you like?”
“Oh...we-well I like drawing and colors. I like the cold and animals.” she says, “And my friends-er, other friends-that I have in a place called a school.”
Chaos pondered this information.
The little human thought, and proceeded to say, “I usually like bonding with people with similar interests...but I don't usually do that a lot.” And even stranger, she felt...different talking about bonding. As if that word was a trigger for the heavier feeling in her chest.
Chaos felt it too. They tried the word, which was a two chirps, the second half of the second chirp turned into a trill. “Bond…”
It worked the same way and they both visibly shook.
Chaos gained an odd look to their face. They slightly opened their mouth, showing a hidden set of teeth within their mouth, and squinted their eyes slightly.
The human knew this was supposed to be a smile. “Do you have an idea?”
“Bonded One,” They chitter, still smiling, “Your name is Bonded One.”
