Today is the first day that everyone starts their training, The call time is 8:30 am. Not too early, not too late. For some, the time they usually get up on a Saturday is noon. Typical of most teens. As they all walk to the locker rooms to change into their gear, you hear the groans of those who usually get up late. Once they're done, they head to the cafeteria for whatever the staff has made for breakfast. Just their luck, it was French toast. As they all choose places to sit, assistants of the Avengers hands out the itinerary for the next 3 months. Leaving the students to read through it as they eat. Some groan more at the thought of going to school during the week. Others just let it be, considering how lucky they feel for being chosen for this.

Within the first night, people got to know each other except one. Laura is a lone wolf. She doesn't like sitting with people during meals because she can't stand the gossip or snotty attitudes she usually hears when sitting with them. She sits at a table furthest away, eats and reads at the same time until she's interrupted by the spider boy.

"Good morning!" He says oddly cheerful. Laura just looks up with a not so pleased look on her face.

"What?" The boy asks.

"I sit alone." She says harshly.

"Oh, uh may I sit here then? I don't know most of these people. Only you. I mean if that's ok with you. I don't want to-" Laura cut him off for what felt like the hundredth time.

"Shut up Parker. It's fine as long as you don't disturb me more. I'm shocked that they aren't begging to be Spider-Man's best friend." Laura says dryly.

"I have a best friend already. Uh, his name is Ned." Peter claims, now nervous of what the girl's response could be.

"I don't care." She says looking back down at her food.

The rest of breakfast was completely silent. Though Laura enjoyed the silence, she hated the fact of Peter sitting with her. After they were done they headed to their first sessions. To Laura's annoyance, she's stuck with the two overly happy girls from last night, Miles who she doesn't mind because of their secret friendship, one kid with laser vision that she's seen around the institution, and Peter. She just had to be stuck in a group with Peter. Their first session was oddly suit fittings. This suit is to be used out in the world. They were also fitted in their training suits as well. The only person that didn't have to do anything was Peter. As for the others they had no choice.

Once given their suits, they parted ways to go get dressed. Laura went to her locker and the girls went to theirs. Not that she wanted to listen to them, but since it's only the three of them in the room, she had no choice to hear the two girls gossip.

"Ugh I'm seriously loving our group!" The one girl said with the upmost excitement.

"I know right?!" Girl number 2 agreed.

"We ended up with the hot guys." The third added.

"Hell yeah we did!" The first girl agreed. "I mean c'mon! Peter! Uh he's so hot!" The hormones of these girls disgusted Laura.

"I know. I'd let him take me for a swing around the city if you know what I mean." Disgusting!

"Oh yeah I know. I wish I was in the other locker room right now. Seeing him change." Girl number 3 chuckled.
"Ooh." Out of annoyance Laura finishes changing and slams the locker door making both girls jump.

As she walks out she hears them whispering about if anything was wrong with her.

"Uh yeah, there is." She mumbles.

Laura never got the chance to check her suit out on her so she is going in slightly clueless. The suit was a beauty in itself. Tony stayed true to the X-Men colors but added white to flare things up. She was pleased aesthetically. They all lined up in front of someone who would view and examine the suits to make them look good and performance perfect. Laura was uncomfortable. As was everyone else since it was a complete stranger feeling them up. Peter stood awkwardly in his perfectly made suit occasionally getting glances of the mystery girl. She finally caught him and rolled her eyes. He looked away blushing.

After fitting was finished they went and took the suits off. Again the girls were gossiping but this time trying not to be heard. It was useless though because Laura has enhanced hearing.

"Uh I'm so jealous!" Girl number 2 groaned.

"Why?" The first girl responded.

"Peter was looking at weirdo over there the entire time we were getting fitted." Bitterness filled her voice.
"Ew! Why would he want to set eyes on her? She's not a nice person." Laura slams her locker again making the girls jump once more.

"I'd be a nicer person if people would just leave me the fuck alone!" Laura shouted at them leaving them stunned as she walked away.

All she could think about during the next half of training was finding ways to escape. The training felt like a drag. All Laura wanted to do was punch those girls in their, probably fake teeth. They glared at her all through each session. Bullies at their finest. After dinner, the feisty girl finally had a plan that she had hopes of working to get her out of there without being noticed. She managed to smuggle ropes from last session she had today. Being as broke as she was in the heart of Manhattan, she had to learn how to not get caught. She slowly lowered her luggage with the rope out the second story window. Then she put gloves on to prevent rope burn, even though it probably wouldn't have mattered because she has self healing factors. Laura slid her way down the rope.

As she goes to grab her case, someone clearing their throat, scaring her. Out of habit she slams the figure against the wall and put her claws near their neck. It took her a second to register who it was before letting go realizing it was Peter.

"Really?!" She whisper screamed. "I could've killed you."

"I know." He says having a cheeky grin and talking normal, giving her the hint he can do the same.

"So Laura, what are you trying to do?" The boy asked.

"What does it look like?" She responded in her normal snippy tone.

"Ok, you know you can't leave right?" He says trying to sound informative.

"Why not?" She questioned.

"There's security cameras all over." He pointed up to the one looking down on her room. She should've known better and checked before hand.

"What are you going to do, rat me out?" She quipped.

"No. Just simply have you walk back in with me and you won't even be punished for coming back." He claimed.

"What is this? A prison?" She snipped.

"No." He shrugged.

"Also how'd you know I'd be out here? Did Stark say something?" She asked half annoyed and half curious.

"No my spidey senses were tingling." He stated. "Yeah sure. Ok." Laura mocked.

"Just come back inside." Peter slightly begged.

"Why do you care so much if I'm here or not?" She asked out of wonder.

"I see potential in you." Peter said shyly.

Blush crept on both of their faces. Luckily due to lack of light they couldn't tell. This was the first time someone has complimented Laura on what she could be. It's always been the looks and actions saying it. For once the words topped the actions. She gave in and slightly scolded herself for doing so. Laura didn't know what was coming over her in that moment, but for one, she didn't like it. They went back to the hall where their rooms are.

"If you need anyone Laura, just knock. Even it's just to have someone to talk to. Good night." He said before opening the door.

She just nodded. It was something she hadn't felt before and surely didn't know how to handle. She keeps thinking that it's a glimmer of hope but she knows deep down it's something else. For the first time ever tonight, she saw something in the irritating boy that she has never seen in anyone ever. Only making her aggravation grow from wanting to know. It was getting late so she just gave up. As she fell asleep she figured it out. Only to forget what it was the next morning.
