WARNING ⚠️: THIS PART IS THE SADDEST BUT SHORTEST! MUST HAVE TISSUES NEAR BY!

It had nearly been a week since the incident. Everyone was heart broken by it. The death toll was minimal but injuries and damages were devastating. Everyone had heard about Laura and Peter. They mourned over the pain they were in. Peter was such an innocent kid. It hurt them to know that this was happening. They knew they were in the hospital, but didn't know where because the hospital wasn't a hospital. The hospital was the academy. No hospital had the proper tech to deal with such catastrophic amounts of a lien matter and injuries from the event.

"Hello Peter. How was your day?" Karen's voice played on a screen.

Laura had Peter's mask data connected to her laptop. Peter was in critical condition and waiting by his side was driving her insane. She could not stand how slow everything felt. So, instead, she took his mask to see happy yet dangerous times. Ones where he mask silly jokes as he right hooked a criminal. But what was being shown at this moment was a conversation Peter had with his AI.

"Haha! It was pretty great. You know Laura? Yeah she, she's just amazing. Her and I uh kind of made love. it was amazing. I don't know if Tony will be watching or is listening so I won't go into details." Laura smiled at the thought of him considering their rendezvous sessions were making love. He truly did care for her. Karen was playing every clip of their conversations.

"Karen?" He asked.

"Yes Peter?" She found it adorable in an odd way that Karen would respond in such a way.

"I'm going to admit this and I can't even tell anyone. I'm just so scared. Part of it is fear of rejection and part of it is fear of disasters. But, I think I love Laura. But there's just so many roadblocks as to why we can't be together." He paused.

"If I ever get hurt please show her this." It went from showing him the mirror to a projection inside the mask.

"Laura if I'm ever hurt and you get to see this, I'm sorry. I'm sorry I wasn't able to help you. I'm sorry I failed you. Please don't ever think that I was too nervous to ask you out. Even though that's partly true. I'm pretty sure you and I had the same reasons as to why we couldn't be together. Just know that... that I-I love you. Remember this forever. With great power comes great responsibility." Her heart shattered when the projection ended.

Laura slammed the laptop closed. Though she felt light headed and dizzy from lack of hydration and alien matter in her body, she managed to get herself out of bed and head over to the hospital like room in the Academy. This is where Peter's practically lifeless body was being held until recovery or further notice. she was healing extremely slow. She hated seeing Peter in his position, but she needed to be there for him. She felt as if she owed it to herself. With a shaky hand, Laura let herself in. Her heart was nearly dust now.

Peter's poor face was covered in purple and blue spots. His veins nearly green from alien matter. His breathing was weak but still a good sign. He was alive. How alive was uncertain. Laura held his hand as she sat next to him, bringing his fingers to her lips. Fresh tears fell, not sure how she still had bodily fluids.

"I'm so sorry, Peter. I'm sorry. I should have had your back more than I did. I should have let you in sooner. I should've... goddamn it." Even though she was feeling it, she still could not bring herself to say the three words that he deserves.

Laura knew she was about to pass out from exhaustion. Her head hurt, the room looked as if it were spinning and she felt cold. She hadn't eaten in nearly a week. Every time she brought a fork full of food to her mouth, the fight would flash in her head. That fight might've given Peter his last meal. At any moment, whatever's pumped into him is his last meal. That made her lose her appetite and she'd just go to their room. But she knew she needed to say it. She needed to let it out.

"You loved me. You knew what I needed and I just pushed you away. I'm sorry. I have the same feelings. I do. Peter, I love you." Just as she said the three words, everything went black and she collapsed on the floor from exhaustion.
