Chapter 5

     I think we slept through the night. It was now 7:43 am. Jax was sitting in front of Colby with his head resting on Colby's knee. Jax would look at me, then Colby, then me, and so on.
"You're a good boy!" I said reaching down to pet him.
"Paw." I held out my hand testing his memory.
Instead of giving me his paw, he smacked Colby in "his area".
"AH. FFFFFUUU..." Colby said covering that area.
"That's not what I meant. But at least I don't have wake him up, Jax. Thanks." I said getting up to go shower.
"Ahhhhh." Colby sounded like he was in pain. He should get over it.
     I get in the shower and start singing. I guess this shower is quieter than I'm used to. Then the hot water cut out. Quick.
"AH. SHIT." I hear Corey yell from the other room.
I guess he's in the shower too.
I turned off my water. I hadn't gotten a chance to do anything but just get my hair wet. I get dressed. When I come out my room, I see Corey just standing there with the angriest look on his face. "So you had cold water too?" I said
"Yeah. F–––ing cold ass water." Colby says walking down the stairs.
"Woah. _____" Colby says starring in aw.
"What?" I said sitting down in the kitchen.
"That was amazing..." Sam chimed in.
"What? I'm still confused."
"Your singing is amazing!" Colby said hugging me.
"Oh. You heard me?" I said embarrassed, yet kinda happy that Colby heard.
"Of course! How could we not." I hear Elton say from the garage working on the heater.
"Wow. The whole entire house is here." My face turns beet red.
"You and Kat should collab. On her channel." Sam suggested.
"We should what?" I say.
"Aw common. It'll be amazing, babe!" Colby says sitting on the counter next me.
"Alright I guess. Just not on a channel yet. People are just getting to know me. I don't want to seem like a show off."
"Good point."

Me: Sam and Colby and apparently the whole house heard me sing.
Kat: I heard u too! I knew there was something special about ya.
Me: Thanks.
Me: Sam suggested we collab.
Kat: Aw sweet. U wanna?
Me: Why not? Later today?
Kat: Fine with me. I don't have any plans.
Me: Ok. Sounds great!

Kat let me pick the song so I picked "Lights Down Low" by MAX ft Gnash.
We sang verses separately. Like I would sing the first. Then she would sing the second. We both came in together at Refrain or Chorus.
"Wow you were amazing, Kat!" I said with a smile.
"Thanks! You were way better though, _____." Kat says.
We go open the door to my room to leave and I here someone hit the door.
"Oops..." I hear someone whisper.
I open up the door to only find Sam and Colby.
"What. The. Fq. I'm so confused." I said staring at them.
"I'm with ya." Kat murmured.
"We...uhh...we totally were listening to you guys beautifully sing." Sam says rocking back and forth on his heels.
"Yeah not at all, _____" Colby says walking away.
"Sure whatever. Just. Don't be so loud next time. Good lord. Y'all are louder than Corey's snore." I say stopping above the stairs.
"HEY. I HEARD THAT, _____. AND I DO NOT SNORE. I BREATH LOUDLY." Corey shouts from his room.
All four of us break out in laughter. I somehow lose my balance topple forward towards the stairs.
"AHH" I scream as I fall down the first set of stairs. I slam my head into the white bars. All I hear next is "_____?! ARE YOU OKAY?"

I wake up on the couch in the game room.
"_____? How are you feeling?" I hear Elton say. My head is propped up with a pillow under an ice pack.
"My head is throbbing." I say rolling my head over to the side. "Ah. That hurt."
"Yeah you cut just below ur right temple. Luckily it's not deep enough to get stitches." Colby says trying to comfort me.
"Devyn went to Walgreens to get some stuff to clean up your cut." Corey adds.

Me: Thanks Devyn
Devyn: No problem. We didn't have anything. I'm trying to go as fast as I can. I'm in the checkout line.
Me: Don't rush. I'm doing fine rn.
Devyn: ok. I'm almost home.
Me: thx Devyn.

~5 minutes later~

Colby walks in with the groceries. I see a bottle of peroxide. Oh god. I think.
"I don't wanna do this. I don't like to put people through pain when it's not necessary. I hate just as much as you." Colby says getting down to the couch's level.
He gets out the peroxide and some cotton balls. As he dabs it on my face, I flinch in pain. He holds my hand with his free hand. He pulls out the box of bandaids. He puts one on my face.
"I don't want you being too rough with these pranks. Please. I can't stand you going through this much pain." Colby says kissing me on the lips.
"My heart melts every single god damn time." Hear Elton say.
"I know. They're the cutest couple." Corey says.
Colby pulls a bean bag chair over as close as he can to me. When he sits down I take his beanie. I put it on my head.
"Thanks for the free merch." I say laughing.
"Keep it, babe." Colby smile
I only stare him in his beautiful sky colored blue eyes.
