Shawn’s Point of View
I went down the steps of my apartment, heading down toward my car. I open the door and start the engine before backing out and driving toward a Starbucks just around the corner. I pull into an empty space and grab my wallet as I went inside. I look up at the menu and decide on ordering something different this time. I smile and hand the cashier money before he gave me the coffee.
I sit down in the regular table beside the window, gazing outside to spot a very beautiful girl. Her hair color shimmers in the sunlight and the bounce to her step was so graceful. I have never seen such a gorgeous red haired girl in my life. I notice she is slim but has a curvy figure, but it suited her style.
I continue to watch this glamorous girl, noticing the fact that she is walking next to Silver, a girl that Dennis goes to school with. I let a grin take over my face as I pull my phone out to call Dennis and ask if he knew who this sweetheart was.
Melody’s Point of View
The following day at school, I find out that Silver and I have most classes together. That makes me happy, having a friend in almost every class. Silver took me to a Starbucks at lunch to meet up with some girls and we just stand outside, waiting for our beverages.
“Lily this is Melody, she just moved here.” Silver explains as a girl sits down at our table. She smiles brightly and I notice how jade green her eyes are in the sunlight.
We all continue to talk about different topics. I start to notice some guys who kept looking over at us and would occasionally point to laugh at us.
“Who are they?” I ask, lowering my voice. Silver glances behind her and smiles as Lily spoke up.
“Oh that’s just Dennis and Shane. They usually sit with us in the cafeteria.”
I nod as Silver shouts, “Hey guys over here!”

We all decide on walking back to the school before lunch time got over. I sigh as the bell rings when we reach the library. I wave to Lily and Silver before heading down the hallway; a bit disappointed neither of them where in my class. I found the room and take a seat near the back. Minutes later the bell rings and a few kinds came in late, including one of the boys at lunch.
He grins at me as he took his seat, “Hey you’re Melody right?”
I nod, “Correct. And you’re Dennis?”
He snorts and shook his head. “Nope, I’m Shane.”
I nod and feel my cheeks redden a bit. I stare over at him, noticing how black his hair really is. Big brown eyes behind the shades we wore and a nose ring. I thought no one could have facial piercings at school?
I shrug as he leans forward, “I think you’re going to fit right in with our group.”
I smile and nod at him as our teacher hands out the worksheet for the day. I sigh and pull out a pen before working on that until I’m done.
After the bell rings, Shane offers to walk me to my locker. I shrug and we both walk down the hall together. I put my combo in the locker to twist it open.
“So I was thinking—“
Shane snaps his mouth shut when Silver and Lily bounce over toward us.
“Melody!” They both begin to sing. I roll my eyes and look over to see Shane smile.
“Um—We should get ice cream.” He voices with some difficulty. I nod at him,
“That’d be fun, but I don’t really know you’re friends.”
