The following morning, I find myself ready for school earlier then usual. I went downstairs to see Jesse and my dad sitting at the table. I could hear the water running through the pipes and assumed my mom was taking a shower.

"Take a seat, Melody." Dad gestures toward a chair. I nod and see Jesse trying to hold back a laugh. Dad shoots him a warning glare and he quickly shut up.

"Jesse tells me that the guy you seen last night isn't... Well good." Dad announces, looking in my direction. "I want you to think about what he is capible of doing Mel. What if he is just wanting a physical relationship?"

I am at a loss of words. Why would Jesse tell Dad something so untrue? I don't know everything about Shawn, but I do know he wouldn't want just a physical relationship.

"I'm just fine. I can watch over myself." I say before Mom walks into the kitchen. She gives us all a smile and I stand up. "I'm going to school early today."

One of Jesse's eye brow raises, "Are you going to see him?"

"No. Besides if I was it wouldn't be any of your buisness!" I shook my head and went around to the closet to grab my bag. Mom gives me a questioning glance and I just shrug at her before walking out the door.

"You boys need to stay out of her personal life!" I hear mom say as I shut the door.

I walk the short distance to school and meet up with Silver. She grins at me before leading me toward our group. I begin to drift from the conversation and think about what had happened this morning. I knew having Jesse around wasn't going to be fun, but for him to just tell my Dad a bunch of lies?

I feel someone slip my hand into their own and turn around to yell at the stranger. I stop mid-sentence and the sight of Shawn makes my insides melt all over. The conversation with Dad floats in my mind and Shawn's concerned facial expression confirms he isn't just interested in a physical relationship. I force a smile for him and he leans his head down toward my own.

"Are you okay? You seem really tense." He whispers in my ear. His hot breath sent shivers down my spine and his body next to mine somehow comforted me in a way. I glance up at him and I wish that I didn't. I blinked back tears and he must have knew something wasn't right. He lead me away from the group toward the gym I believe.

"This brings back memories." Shawn chuckles as we make our way under the bleachers.

I roll my eyes, "Let me guess, you make-out with girls behind here?"

He shrugs with a smirk present. He sits down against the wall and offers a seat next to him. "All of those girls are in the past. The only girl I see in my future is you."

"That's really corny," I admit as he shrugs with a smile.

"So how is everything with you?" He questions, making eye contact with me. I sigh and suck in a breath of air.

Shawn's POV

"Well," She pauses and broke eye contact. "Jesse is being Jesse."

"And why does that affect your mood?" I wonder, watching how she carefully bit her bottom lip. I want to know what is bothering her, but I don't want to invade her family life either.

"Because.." She trails off, "It involves you."

She met my wondering gaze and the expression on my face probably shows how confused I am. "How does it involve..."

I stop mid-sentence.

I promised myself I wouldn't force anything out of her. If she wants to tell me, she can on her own.
